Enchanting Pices in AH!!Follow

why must the prices of enchanting supplies be so high in the AH??
it really gets annoying, cause when i want to enchant something on myself, i see the supplies up in AH for like 2g, and thats the lowest price. when i find something for enchanting when im farming, i get curios and look to see what the starting price is in the AH. it comes out to like 10s or 20s, then i look at the prices from other people, and it's like 1.5g. it's ridiculous!

People will sell them for that price if others will buy them for that price. If there hard to sell at 1.5g then the price will steadily come down but what keeps the price high is people buying them at 1.5g.

Also what keeps the price high is availability, if the market becomes flooded the price will drop. I saw this happen on blue pearls a few weeks ago, I was making a good profit on them then others caught on and the market became flooded, the price halved overnight and as a result people was reluctant to farm them so there was then a shortage and the price rose again.

It's all about supply and demand.

Strangely enough, whenever I put up enchanting materials, I had a 1 silver initial price, and no deposit. Since enchanting materials have no vendor price, they go to the AH for nothing. Thus, it is cheaper to put up enchanting materials even compared to, say, linen cloth. Also, if it eventually sells, and you never lose a deposit fee, it is well worth the "hassle" to re-auction the materials every 24 hours until they sell.

If you're an enchanter, you know why enchanting materials are so expensive; if you had no problem getting them, you wouldn't be looking at the Auction House, right?

What I want to know is if anybody is making a profit off of buying these items and enchanting them.
Take demonslaying for example. The Elixer regularly goes for 3-4g. The Shard needed often goes for as high as 8g, rarely as low as 4g. The enchantment sells, on a good day, for 8g.

10g for Demonslaying enchantment on Horde side of Earthen Ring. Demonslaying Elixir: 1g; Large Radiant Shard (assuming this is what is needed): 6.5g

I normally make a killing selling my enchanting engredients at AH. I have spent the last 4 weeks turning my starting 3g into well over 200g. I buy all the cheap greens and dissenchant them selling the dust i get in stacks of ten and all shards single. When I started this I had a skill level of around 150 and even managed to get my level up by over enchnating my own stuff. So I think its a good thing that they go for so much, I even buy out underpriced stuff and resell it for more to keep the price high. As for Demonslaying I normally do it for 5g just to get my skill up.
