Making Bows????Follow

#1 May 30 2005 at 8:57 PM Rating: Decent
Just wondering... since im in my posting time, lol, Is it possible for BOWS to be produced.. ive looked but couldnt really find a definite answer.

Its a bit ****** if not since engineers can make guns and bullets but can anyone make bows and arrows???

any thoughts?

never heard of making a bow, but that would be a nice easy addition for WoW to work on since there are no longer any long-standing, unresolved bugs in the game. : )

I find it REALLY silly and maybe a bit absurd that you can make every weapon possible in the game EXCEPT bows... blizzard if your listening... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ALL ABOUT!! If they bought that in i would drop my LW and take up weaopnsmithing in a heart beat... (sigh) probably never happen though.. ah well.

You can't make bows. but if u want a rage weapon. Be a engineer they could make guns.

Ok Devils Advociate, who makes Staffs?, or who makes shilds?

Exactly. Some things you can only get through drops. :(

I could see sheilds being made in black smithing, but that'd probably fall into some balancing issues of being able to completely self sustain yourself (in the sense of equipment) though your one trade skill while others have to interact with the NPC's or other characters to get by if all weapons and armor can be made with that one skill... ahem. Staves, on the other hand, don't fall under any of those categories... in fact i don't know what you'd call a person that makes staves....

As for bows, fletchers make those, and it'd be silly to have a trade skill devout solely on making bows, true? And it'd impractical for it to be a secondary skill. Blizzard would have to produce a completely new MMORPG to sustain things like, being able to drop things on the ground and buy homes that you can decorate with things, like... orc heads and statuettes, so you can get a carving trade skill which would allow for making staves and wands (which could be enchanted instead of enchanting a log that should be burned) and allow for sub trade skills so you can't have an over powering trade skill, but instead you have a shield crafter, an armor crafter, a sword crafter, ect. But then you fall into a whole new area of problems....

Ok so getting those 3 items through drops works for me after all ;-p

No a Fletcher is one who makes Arrows, not bows.

Beta had Lumberjacks(gathering prof) and Woodworkers that used to make shields bows and staffs, but I guess they were too lame for Bliz, So they were removed, Key point it i dont know that their is enuff call for bows staffs and shilds to deem a extra porf, speicly even with a good porf skill better items drop than can be made, so .... go farm, you will get better items than ya can make for the given energy/money.

I can definitally see a bowyer/fletcher and shieldcrafter coming down the line. Logging would be cool extra gathering prof.

When the expansions come out (or later patches) you know they're going to add more profs...and hopefully more recipes/patterns to the current ones.

As a Hunter, i'd be happy to switch from herb/alch to fletcher...maybe saving myself a little money in arrows :)

i'll just say i had great fun in UO getting my packhorse from the stables and going to the local woods and chopping trees with my lumberjack skill, then using those lumber to turn them into shafts or bows and xbows. as for the feathers i used for finishing out the arrow or xbow bolt, well there were plenty of birds flying around or else, go after harpies. now that's a role-playing game!

that would be a good use of stable slots for everyone else who wants to pick up gathering skills and needs a packhorse to help carry stuff. let's just say as a cook or miner, you might want to go out and grab a lot of some resource and need the extra inventory space.

as it is, only hunters use the stable, as far as i know, and our gathering potential is limited by our own inventory slots.
