Get friends or guildies to send you skins. Send them the crafted items (to sell or disenchant) Its very hard to lev up on your own but with three or four skinners to one leatherworker, you really have something.

See if anyone in your guild wants to take up skinning/enchanting or skinning/mining or even skinning/herbalism.

You need to buy/find the wicked leather patterns to make it to 300 easily. These don't require any special drops to make so you will be able to level quickly. If you aren’t above level 50 you will have a hard time getting rugged leather. This means you will have to buy it at the AH. If you have some spare gold this isn't as bad as it sounds. You can recoup most of the cost just selling wicked leather to the vender. Or you can try selling on the AH to recoup all your costs. This goes for thick and heavy leather too at lower levels. I made it to 300 at level 40 doing this. If you are pressed for cash I wouldn't really recommend the AH rout though since it will probably cost you like 10G if you just sell to vendors. But defiantly be on the lookout for the wicked leather patters at the AH. Don’t go nuts over them. Just try to pick them up when you can get them cheap.

Also always try to make the hardest item you can. This guarantees a level up when you make the item.

if you're just interested in points then make the items that uses the least resources, and be prepared to sell them to npcs bc you probably won't find a good market for it. eg, the embossed leather body green-level armor is nice, it sells well. but it takes more leather than an embossed bracer or boot. but the bracer and boot are white-level armor..even quest items are probably better than that. so just sell to npcs.

that's low level stuff, of course. but you can follow the same idea as you go up. one of the best things for low-level increases is to make light armor kits. one skin, no extra resources needed. the later kits take more and need other stuff, but you might find that it's still better and at least, people want the armor kits. not to mention you can stack them to sell slowly at the AH.

I'm not 300, but 175... So far, its been handy to know an alchemist. Some recipees call for various elixers and oils that can be rather expensive on the AH. If you have a friend who will make them for you, its a money & time saver.

It is not that hard. Just go in the forest and skin beasts.
If you can, have other people help. Usually, it is not that hard to get skins.

Whatever you do, Good luck!

I make regular rounds of places where other players mow down beasts without skinning them and ask if I can skin the corpses (zones seeme to change from server to server). Sometimes, when I'm just on for a bit, I just follow groups around dotting and de-buffing mobs, buffing and healing players for the right to skin without leeching xp.

When I have a bunch of mats, I make the hardest items I can (requiring the least amount of mats, unless I want an upgradde for myself or for a guildie or friend or paying customer) to be sure to get skill-ups.

I also make regular visits to the AH for new patterns and usually bid on whatever I can (or buy out if reasonnably priced).

As for the coin needed, I fish a lot to subsidize my tradeskilling (you're always missing something that you'll prefer to buy fast in the AH rather than go out and farm yourself - especially items from other tradeskills). I've also made a few friends working other trades (alchemists, smiths, tailors and what not) with whom I trade raw materials for their trades against their finished products used in LW and we all come out ahead.

Also, being blessed with fantastic guild mates, as it is the case for me, will help greatly.

However, the most important if not *only* requirement is actually good, old-fashioned patience. If you're the type that's hell-bent on making 60 in two weeks, there probably isn't a single tradeskill that you'll find enjoyable.

Whatever you do, hang in there! :)
