Hi im a lvl 40 NE Druid and i started doing skinning/leatherworking as professions, but now ive decided to drop LW and pick up mining, im look for a small guide on where the best place to power lvl my skill is and what ores you need to go for at what skill lvls. i checked both alla and thott and couldnt find much.

if i could get a quick guide like this it would be awesome
skill lvl - ore type - Best location to lvl

thanks for you help, and btw i dont have my mount yet and im near broke so any tips on quick cash would be a greaqt help thnx

quick cash? you should have stayed with skinning and go skin stuff. if you didn't make money with skinning you won't make money with mining.

well maybe you will bc you're not using the ore, compared to you wer e probably using your skins.

but keep in mind, players who can make money regardless of craft have a better idea of how to make money than someone who, regardless of craft, always seems to be broke.

i say this bc regardless of using your own skins or not, there was plenty of other loot to sell to give you some money. even a few leather items will sell and bring in money.

im keeping skinning cause i know materials sell well, im dropping Leather Working for mining cause LW is only good for patches mostly, and its not worth the hassel. i am currently looking for HELP WITH MINING because i have chosen to go for 2 gathering skills in an attempt to increase my cash flow.

i do realize that i can make a lot of money without crafting, but i am hoping to run gathering crafts to INCREASE cash flow. furthermore not to sound rude but your comment seems to come a cross insulting please try not sounding so hostile while someone is politely asking for help

"but keep in mind, players who can make money regardless of craft have a better idea of how to make money than someone who, regardless of craft, always seems to be broke."

in my personal case i left WOW at lvl 37 and sold all my items and gave them to a friend, i came back and have just gotten back on my feet with full equiptment. i am simply looking for help from players with more experience on this topic.

OH BTW skinning doesnt pull in as much money as ppl think, but it is a descent constant and reliable flow of a small amount of cash. Leatherworking is just worthless unless you can purchase the one or two expensive patterns, and even then isnt really worth the time :(

Here's what I have for you!

Lucky you! You're level 40! The first ores, copper and tin, are easy-peezy to find. For coppe,r I highly suggest the Gol-Bolar Quarry in Dun Morogh (the zone outside IF). There are about 3-4 spawns inside it, 3 or so in in the quarry basin area, and 4-5 in the area outside and around the quarry.

Tin, I loved the Redridge Mountains (east of Elwynn Forest, the newbie human area). There are copious tin and copper veins in the caves of the area; run a loop around the entire zone a few times. You can your damned travel form >_>. Oh, I guess you'll have a mount too :-P.

Next, we have Iron. Yes, I'm skipping silver, it's a rare tin spawn. Iron... is totally Thousand Needles. Hands down my favorite place. Check the caves in the area (there are also mithril spawns). Note: Irons randomly spawns gold, and mithril randomly spawns truesilver. Once you learn the spawn locations (approximate), you'll have no problem finding these in this zone. There are also two iron and maybe 2 tin spawns around the edges of the SHimmering Flats. Again, yay for your mount/travel form :-P. And in the buggy area, there are always two mithril spawns (ooze-covered).

That's as far as I am, it should work for you :)

Thank you very much LockeColeMA that is a great piece of info that will be very useful for me while i start ^ ^ just as i thought, and you seem to hint at, mining tends to be something that just has to be felt at to find a good route and area, i will try these areas out and i thank you greatly for your time and thought ^ ^ Rate up

Yup, mining nodes spawn in a general area, but rarely in the same place one after another. If you know approximately where they are, you can weave your way through canyons to see if they're there! I also highly suggest purchasing an Ornate Spyglass: it gives you Longsight, and will allow you to see nodes all the way at the end of your minimap. Downside is it doesn't go through walls. Still, it can save you a trip through a cave if don't want to fight to find out if your ore has spawned yet :-P

Copper - Loch Modan (South Side)
Tin - Loch Modan (East Side)
Iron - Alterac Mountains (Middle), Desolace (Everywhere)

That should get you started.
