Level smithing quickly and come out on topFollow

The Key is once you get to level 105 then to buy as much tin as possible for less than 3s per bar/ore. Use the AH mostly.

Then go mine lots of copper and make bronze.

Once you have the bronze get the recipie for Rough Bronze Leggings. They take 6 bronze bars only.

Make only Leggings until you run out of bronze.

Sell the leggings to a vendor for 9 silver 64 copper.

It should only take about 140 tin bars/ore To reach 150 smithing

At 3s each that's 4g 20s, but from selling all of the leggings to vendors you can make 4g 43s 44c thats a 23s 44c profit.

It works very well to get your smithing up and you can tun large profits from getting tin at lower prices like 30s for a stack of tin bars.

Depending on your server's economy you can often make more money selling the stuff you craft to an enchanter instead of to a vendor. It's worth looking into, especially if you have an enchanter friend who would like cheap dust.

I'm an axe smith, as for lvl ups from 225 up, I mined a ton of mithril in badlands. the ogre cave in the very southwest was great for mithril, and truesilver. I cant remember exactly at 225, but from 230, I made lots of mithril coifs, heavy mithril boots and chests, i think that got me to about 250. at that point, (i had plans for spurs, lucky drop) made/sold lots of spurs. Also, you can use heavy mithril helms for skillups, and at 250 you can make dense grinding/sharpening stones and weighstones. Cant recall if those are grey on learning, but i think just mining stone/ore should get you mats for a few more skillups. Your best bet for 255-270 or so should be thorium armor pieces, belt and bracers are good, tho the plans can be up to 10 g or so, they might be worth it since the mats to craft those pieces are easily attainable. Also, mining in Un'goro is good for thorium, the ridge is covered in rich veins, and the gorilla cave in the north has several small veins. at 270 you can gain the plans for imperial plate bracers, which are EASY to craft, thorium and star rubies. usually rubies go for about 1g on my server, so a thorium stack and 2g per point, those should get you to 280. I used imperial plate to get all the way to 300.

I can sell the leggings for 30s - 40s at AH. So i make quite a bit more than the 9s at vendor. But yes I do make alot of the leggings to sell.

I just hit 150 smithing (doing basically the same as was said previous), and now I am trying to find cheap gems for
[Shining Silver Breastplate]. This item sells for around 6G on my server. It really is a nice piece, I just wish the [Iridescent pearls] X 2 weren't so expensive and hard to find (around 1G a piece at AH). Plus you need Lesser Moonstone X 2 and [Moss Agate] X 2, and also 20 Bronze Bars.

So overall it's an expensive piece to make, but it sells everytime, so don't let anyone tell you that smithing can't be profitable, it just takes a little practice and effort and you can make some good money.

This isn't really profit. You're not counting the money you would've gotten from the copper you mined if you just sold it on the AH. Plus, you have to consider how much you paid for the pattern.

Also, it's actually cheaper to buy the bronze directly than to 1)buy tin 2) mine copper 3) smelt bronze. I usually find a glut in the bronze market on my server and can get bronze at ~3s/bar or less

Keep in mind that one copper bar + one tin bar = TWO Bronze bars. So you only need 10 of each to make a stack. Assuming that you can get 20 Bronze for the same price as 20 tin (3s a piece, 60 silver a stack), and copper is cheaper than tin is, then PrayForMojo is actually losing more money than the OP.

Just saying ^_^

I do agree with his other statement though;

Well, I just hit level 30 and I'm sitting with 30G in the bank (Not counting everything I bought recently >10G worth of stuff).

So here's the math ....

Your way:
Collect 20 copper and 20 tin and sell on AH. Let's say I get 1G for both stacks and it took me an hour to collect the mats. Good job.

My way:
Collect 20 copper and 20 tin and smelt 40 bronze. My [Shining Silver Breastplate] takes 20. Now I go to AH and buy gems to build 2 pieces. This costs me around 8-10G for both sets of mats depending on the time of week (midweek is actually better). I list the armor on AH for 6G each. 2-4G profit. Better than selling the mats on AH. It only took a couple of extra minutes to buys the stuff and build the mail. Plus, I get to skill up at the same time. And I sell them cheap! I've seen it listed @ 8-10G on Skywall before, although I don't know if it sells at that. Better job.

On that note: Everyone has there own style and game-play. In reality it's just a matter of choice. Now I'm level 185 BS and am looking at a similar venture with [Green Iron Hauberk].
