120 skinning

Hi there, I have been having trouble getting my skinning skill passed 120, I have been skinning for 3 days and it hasnt moved. I went to the trainer to see if it was time to level up, but I need 5 more points before I can train again...has anyone else had this problem? If so, what dd you do? Thanks so much for all your help

With the limited info listed,

Are you skinning mobs that are levels bewlow 24? at 120 skinning thats the Highest level you can skinn and i bleive that mobs grey out at 10-15 levels below your cap so 14-11 and lower mobs will not have a chance to skill up, the trick, skinn higher level mobs, if you cant kill them, then wait till you can before advancing skinning.

That makes sense. I am only level 14 so that could be the issue, So I can't advance the skill then until I can skin level 24 or higher creatures? Or just higher then 15 or so? Thanks again

ya 24 would be the Highest you could skinn, and at that level you have a chance to fail(you can just keep trying till you get it). so ya about 15 or so should have a chance to get a skill up, the game has a few speedbumps to stop professions from advancing too much faster(unless you have help) than your level. keep at it, sometimes you just need to wait.

you may like staying in your low areas killing and skinning to get enough to work on LW or making money. but give a chance to level up now and then, going to newer monsters and areas. you'll find your skinning will increase again just fine. skinning is one of those skills that you can skin and level up together, don't have to spend separate time on skinning to increase unless you started later and you're higher level.
