Discombobulator Ray QuestionFollow

On this site and on several posts, this is said to have a short cooldown with NO mention of Charges. I just bought one in IF and it has 5 charges and no mention of cooldown. Has this been nerfed along with so many other things? And is there a way to recharge it or anything other than 5 and out.

Someone was selling one last night and said it had 3 charges. After coming to this site and reading, I thought he must have been mistaken. But now OWNING one, I see that it says 5 charges. So much variant information...

Will you guys let me know what is going on with this? I was going to give up skinning and become an engineer. But if everything I make is different than it used to be, I will need to rethink this... I will probably still do it, because I am bored skinning only for money and not really making much anyway.

So since this is a charged weapon... what happens to it when it is empty? Does it just dissappear? Can it be recharged? Is there salvagable parts?

heh heh Used it for the first time last night. A ?? Warlock saw me while I was stealthed and couldn't get away. He was toying with me, riding around me on his mount. Basically taunting me... Actually, he might have left me alone, but I thought.... hmmmm lets see, the only thing I have that actually gives me a chance is the Discombobulator ray. Perhaps....

So I turned, punched it and Poof... he was a little green gnome... I hit sprint and was gone. HOWEVER, I was to learn, although they look like a gnome, he retained all his powers. He put some DOT on me that eventually killed me. Even though I died, it was a blast. I would have LOVED to have seen his face when a little gnome popped up where his mounted lock had been only a second before.
