Alchemy Levelling from 232??? Should I Level First?Follow

Apologies first if this has been discussed before - I couldn't find it.

My character is a Level 40 Hunter - she is my main. She has 232 in Alchemy and 261 in Herbalism. I am now totally stuck on how to level up Alchemy from this point.

The only orange recipe I have now is Wildvine Potion (requires Wildvine, Purple Lotus, Crystal Vial) but wildvine only drops 10% of the time from Purple Lotus and Purple Lotus only grows in areas where I can't really wander around collecting herbs safely - I tried Ferelas last night both in the North and on the island and it was too close to constant death to bother with.

I've spent a day in Swamp of Sorrows which was v comfortable level wise and have collected TONS of bindweed but don't currently have any recipes that use it at all. Elixir of Greater Intelligence or Arcane Elixir look good to level up on for a while as I can get Goldthorn and Khadgar's Whisker easily. One problem is that I can't find out where to get either of these two recipes from? Can anyone help please or give me any other ideas on how to at least get up to 275 so I can transmute arcanite for my guildies.

(Buying the herbs to level up with is not an issue as I've in debt to my guild for their help with buying my mount and I want to give every gold I earn back to them.)

Right - I had done research on it before but had failed to find out that Arcane Elixir and Elixir of Greater Intellect could be bought at Master Trainer on Feathermoon (Feralas) - I got this info from http://members.cox.net/katy-w/Trades/Alchemy.htm .

So I took my goldthorn, Khadgar's Whiskers, purple lotus and vials back to Feathermoon where I trained in Dreamless Sleep Potion which got me from 232 to 235 and then then Arcane Elixir and Elixir of Greater Intellect. Making these potions has got me to 254 now and I was able to buy the Elixir of Greater Agility, Elixir of Detect Demon and Stonescale Oil recipes from the alchemy trainer too.

I'm going to train up to 260 next by collecting Gromsblood in Ashenvale & Desolace and making the detect demon potion. Then go and buy Superior Mana Potion & Elixir of Superior Defense (potions of both should sell well in AH) and train up with those high enough to finally do my Transmutations - especially arcanite!
