Skill-Up RateFollow

#1 Jul 20 2005 at 10:25 PM Rating: Decent
Would it be possible to begin to collect data on "proc" rates for skill-ups for yellow/green?
So a record of how often a yellow gives skill
or, even better, how much a yellow of a certain profession, given a certain pattern being used, gives skill up
the best would be irrelevant of "yellw/green" but look at differences in current skill level and pattern skill level

the intent of this expedition would be to see how efficiently certain patterns give skill as yellow/green; thus you can conserve money by being more efficient. also i could then use it to post a "how to get 300 skill as cheap as possible" =D

This would take 1000's of people logging all their skill attempts over many months. Also, given the effect of intelligence on skill-ups it would be iffy at best.

Its not really rocket science though. An orage will always raise your skill. When a recipe turns yellow from orange, it will raise skill faster than when it is about to go from yellow to green.

Same with green and green-closer-to-grey. Greys dont raise your skill. Skill-up-rate seems to be based on 5pt increments. IE,A given recipe is just as likely to raise your skill from 136 to 137 as it is from 138 to 139.

Keep some of those quest rewards with +10 to +15 int instead of vendoring them, swap em on when tradeskilling. Look for recipes with small costs.
