#1 Jul 26 2005 at 9:49 AM Rating: Decent
ok well i just made my alt which is a lvl 9 hunter currently and i'm looking into some professions for him, but i really dont know what would be best...i've heard skinning - leatherworking the most...but what are your opinions

and also i'm about to hit the lvl to attain talents, and i was wondering which avenue might be best to take for good power and good beast relations as well... or what current speccs u guys are working with and how they work

i pvp when i can, and there are a lot of gankers on my server (mannoroth) if that means anything

thanks for your help

My hunter is a lvl 49 on a PvP server.

I started skining/LW. Got bored with it and you can buy better than you can make (until you can hit the scorpid gear in the 40s.)

Went herb/enchant. When I got Enchant to 250 I dropped herb and picked up Alchy (I had saved all the herbs I collected and power levelled 1-300 in 3 days.)

Right now I am Alchy 300/Encant 300.

(Don't recomment enchant. Its a money sink. Everyone always feels your ripping them off, even when you sell enchants at mat cost. People are not nice to enchanters that aren't in their guild.)

If you wanna make money I'd go either Skinning and Mining or Skining and Herbalism. Stick with tem til you hit lvl +20, then swap one for a production profession.

Its true that you can go Skinner/LW, but a choice there is mining/engineering. Engineering,in my opinion and from my experience from other hunters, kick *** for them. First of all,u will make money with mining ,but then with your engy,u can make some crazy **** **** that helps u inn pvp and in instances.Example:Pvp- Gnomish net,put the other guy in a net and your free to shoot him range for 15 secs.........thats like a free kill. Instance- You build jumper cables.Party is going to wipe,u feign death, wait until all party dies, defeign and rez a healer --> no wipe. You can build a mass of other stuff to help you out everywhere plus dont forget guns ,ammos , and explosives (grenades,dynamites,....).

So in my opinion,engy/mining is a lot better then skinning/LW

It's preference. I went Mi/Eng and hated it. There were maybe 4 or 5 items I'd get with it (couple scopes, the 2nd hearthstone item, the GDR, net machine, and that's about it), and even then I didn't think they were that stellar.

I'd go it again when I've money to burn (i.e. a lvl 60 alt) but I changed to SK/LW. I've an alt priest that's gone tai/ench, so I can always funnel him armor to disenchant, as well as a Rogue alt for more armor.

In my case SK/LW works great for me. And I've seen some of the higher level Leather that can be made. It's pretty fierce.

Eng is by far the most expensive profession out there. What's worse is it's a big old money sink until later levels when you can...what...use the items yourself or sell them to others that have eng? Can't sell them in the AH really. <shrugs>

Yea, lwk/skin is mainly crap for the starting items, for the 40ish you can make the hv scorpid but then when you get up to 250+, then it sucks. hell. none of the 3 branches (dragonscale elemental tribal) really... fit... the hunter. Yea, ppl say go dragonscale for hunters. wrong. dragonscale = good armor, +stm +int (occ) +spi (occ), +elemental resist (occ). yet no agi. hmm i thought that hunters main attribute was agi. :P. elemental and tribal are the same way. currently there are few high lv leather items that are good for hunts. unless you are a retarded hunter who does no ranged attacks, then dragon would be good xP
