Can someone tell me how to become either a weaponsmith or an armorsmith? What are the req. for this? I'm a lvl 46 warrior by now with bs-skill 230. Can someone help me out?
Well are you alliance or horde because for the alliance the trainers are in IF and they are right next to the great anvil. But for the horde I am not quite sure.

I'm actually experiencing a similar problem.
I'm a level 41 human pally with Blacksmithing at 230 as well.
I found the trainers in ironforge at the great anvil, but the weapon crafter just announces "greetings human" and the armor crafter states that he will train me, but there is no option to do so.
Is there some kind of quest or prerequisite for activating these trainers to do thier thing?

Talk to Myolor, right behind you as you are trying to talk to the mastersmiths. You have to choose a path from Myolor first.
The Artisan blacksmith will tell you this if you meet reqs.
