Well, there are a couple of places I like to farm it on the alliance side. One is by killing the trolls in the Hinterlands. You can do a faction quest to improve your faction with the dwarves there at the same time. Or you could do the faction quest in the Felwood. The problem with this is that the quest is on one end of a very long zone and the furbogs (sp?) are on the other. It makes for time consuming quest turn ins. There are some of the mobs by the quest giver, but they are higher level.

I just found out with my orc that the dwarves of the Hinterlands, though they claim they are not part of the alliance, do no like the horde. So there’s no way to do that faction quest. Plus some of the griffons that won’t attack the alliance do attack the horde. So it’s a more dangerous zone. I guess I’ll be farming my mageweave in Felwood.

But any humanoid mobs in their 40s can drop the cloth, so you should have a fairly wide selection of farming spots.

I've had very large amounts of mageweave drop from the dunemaul ogres in Tanaris. I just checked the item search here and it says most of the ogres have better than 33 percent chance to drop it. I'm not sure I trust those numbers all the time. It lists turtle scales and scorpid scales as being what looks to be like a 1 in 10 kinda drop rate. I've seen closer to 40 percent or so drop rates for both overall in all appropriate mobs in Tanaris. The 42-43 turtles SEEM to have almost a 50/50 chance to drop scales. Not sure what the numbers mean on this site, though, but they don't seem to match what I'm seeing while i'm grinding.

Seems to me that Mageweave becomes the most common cloth drop from Humanoids around level 45. I've been grinding the elite trolls outside Zul'Farrak a good bit hoping for level 40ish drops for my alts. They are 43ish and still drop more silk than mageweave, but a pretty good bit of both. The aforementioned Furbolgs (48ish) in Felwood drop mageweave almost exclusively. So, again, I think mageweave becomes the most common cloth after 45. Any place with level 45-50 humanoids should be good for it. I like the Dune Maul Ogre suggestion. Ogre's don't run away.

I like hitting the Ogre caves,,Ogre-Mages seem to drop them consistently and you can grind them in a circle for respawns.

I ground out all the mageweave to level my tailoring through the "mageweave" levels on the Ogres in Tanaris.
