How to go about enchanting?Follow

#1 Aug 11 2005 at 5:15 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, so with my latest alt, im definately doing enchanting. Problem is, i cant decide which method to use. Ive heard both used by different people, so all im asking is which one typically makes more money throughout the game?

1. Actually level enchanting and enchant stuff (i know, i know, "what else would you do?")
2. Just disenchant all the items and instead of using them for enchants, sell the disenchants on the AH. (enchanting mats are selling for quite a bit, ive noticed)

If you've got any opinion at all which would be the better money maker, any advice would be appreciated.

number 2 would be best immediate money maker because you have to level up enchanting for a good bit to make much money... it is like that with almost all of the non gathering skills, or at least all i have tried

There is nothing wrong with going with number one, but if you are looking to make money, then this will definately help. If you have a high level main, just go through a low level instance, such as DM, and send all the greens over to your enchanter, that way you can make quick money...

Then later on, level it up by doing enchants for real, after you get some money.

Well see , the thing is, at higher levels of enchanting, green items stop lvling you, I think its around lvl 80 or so, so you might need to start getting blue items which is pretty hard (and drains the money that you made selling the stuff, so its a waste). I think the best thing to do,is do disenchanting for about 50 or so lvls, that way when you do start enchanting, you will also have lots of supplies.

There's no point in choosing enchanting if you never enchant, I mean its a waste of skill, plus you should be very commited, since the recipes for the good stuff costs loads of money, but once you reach icy chill and demon slayer, the gold will be streaming in :).Also, just as tip, if you don't find anybody to buy your enchant, and you really really want to get that one or two lvls, just enchant over a previous one.hope that helps
