Eng and Ench are both money sinks, bs is less of a money sink than the first two. personally i'd go herb/alch or sk/mi to make alot of coin. I usually go herb/alch on my own warriors.

For money, go with 2 gathering skills...

Most crafting skills are money sinks until near end game. Personally, i chose to go with Mining and Engineering on my warrior because it is so fun. Explosives provide a bit of crowd control, the Gnomish remote gives you the ability to control mech enemies, which will not come in very handy until Gnomeregan, the jumper cables allow you to rez (low success rate though), and so forth...

I have been able to make a good bit of money also, you will find that after getting your engineering up a bit, you will have an abundance of copper bars, and later tin bars, to sell. By selling the bars that are no longer used, you can get some money at least. About 60s or so, depending on the time you sell for a full stack of copper, so with a bit of work, Engineering is not that big of a money sink.

Enchanting can be a money sink, but it you just Disenchant things, you can easily sell the stuff. Another idea would be to make an alt to d/e things you do not need, or things that do not sell on the AH really well. I have seen this strategy mentioned several times, but I do not yet know how good it will do.

as far as Blacksmithing, i do not have a clue...

Hope this helps... but the bottom line is that crafting tradeskill are not big money pools till later in the game, which is why some people pick 2 gathering skills and drop them later in the game to pick up a craft, they eventually drop the other gathering skill to pick up the other craft...

Don't worry about any crafting profession until later in the game. If ya want money, and I know you do, take up skinning and mining and rake in the cash. Later on, you can decide to level up engineering or blacksmithing or whatever you want. Enchanting is hard on the wallet for sure. Also, it is a service providing profession, so it may be nice to do your own enchanting, it isn't hard to find mid-level enchants sold at break-even or a loss from all the other poor sods tryin to level up their enchanting.

Blacksmithing is nice because you will never be wearing lousy gear. On the other hand, there are a ton of blacksmiths trying to level up and selling their wares at (you guessed it) break-even or a loss.

Just pick up mining and skinning (or enchanting to disenchant soulbound stuff) and grind away. When you are mounted and happy at 40 with cash to burn, you will probably have chosen which way you want to go, and can just drop 10 gold or so and blow past the first gajillion levels of your profession with ease, as opposed to pouring money into it while you level up and pay for training, and a mount, and gear etc.

So: Make your money now, spend it later when it means less.
