which lw path?Follow

I was just wondering what leatherworking path a hunter should take. Originally I was just gonna go dragonscale for the money but then someone told me that with mats and what not that its not that much better for monetary purposes. But I haven't seen a whole lot of agility/spirit/stamina bonuses in the stuff of any of the 3. Am I not looking hard enough? I mean I saw the corehound boots in tribal leatherworking which makes me wanna go that way but I'm just not sure.

I'm a tribal leatherworker with almost every non-MC recipe known. It's very disappointing. I make more off of selling raw materials than any crafted item. About the only item that sells regularly is the wolfshead helm (6-8g on Alleria).

I'd guess you'd have more useful hunter recipes with dragonscale (all the specialist recipes are mail), but I'd really take a hard look at what you can make.

Just so you know corehound boots require MC materials so unless you're in a raiding guild you probably won't be getting the materials you need to make them (or the faction to get the recipe as I think that's a TB recipe).

My opion is that all "special" LW paths are poor returns for the effort. By the time you can actually get the materials needed to make the "special" items, you will probably have better items from drops. I really liked LW as a profession until about level 45. It was great that I could make and use my own armor and armor patches. But, around level 45 I was getting much better drops(from 5 man instances) than anything I could make for myself. This IS the way the game was designed. Other than a very few items all "special" LW paths are pretty much worthless. As a 300 Tribal LW, the only pattern I found that sells good are the two Devilsaur items, and at not much of a profit. Heck, as a LW I pretty much stick to making items that are not for any of the specializations! My best seller? Wicked Leather items!!

Dragonscale is the most beneficial to the Hunter themselves. The Blacj Dragonscale Armor all has + Attack Power stats... these stats help your ranged DPS more than +Agility bonuses ever will. I did not realize this when first searching for a specialization myself. However someone in my Guild canmake all those items and I can farm the mats without the specialization so I am going Elemental to make Rogue/Druid gear for guildmates and alts.

I also agree with the above poster that LW specialization is not a good way to make money however can be benificial if you are in a guild to help outfit guildmates and alts with resist gear etc for raiding.

Hope that helps.
