Currently, my main character is a level 55 hunter. I took leatherworking and skinning as my professions when I started, but I unlearnt l/w earler with the intention of taking another gathering prof (dragonscale is useless, and I should be getting my beaststalker stuff soon, so making armour isn't much use, plus it doesn't sell).

Anyway, I'm thinking of taking mining but I'm also considering enchanting (for disenchanting items to sell).

I'm just wondering which will bring in more gold in the long run. I could probably make alot selling shards, but I won't have a constant supply.

On the other hand, alot of people mine.

Any thoughts?

Well, remember that getting enchanting for DEing things really only lets you break soulbound items. Any BoEs you get (and don't equip) can be simply sent to a level 1 alt for breaking (I suggest human for Alliance or undead for Horde, fast runs from newbie city to Stormwind/Undercity and you avoid the massive lag from IF/Org).

I was thinking of using the disenchanting skill to break down BOPU items from instances and things, seeing as how after RFC blues are the main drops from bosses.

Plus, I believe you need to be lvl 5 to take a profession :)

I'm a bit bored of mining already to be honest. The whole leveling up is annoying.
