LW Stuck at 267Follow

#1 Sep 26 2005 at 10:28 AM Rating: Decent
It seems my leatherworking is stuck at 267. The only patterns that are skillups for me require lots of scorpid scales. I've been farming them but just can't get enough to get a lot of skillups. They never seem to be on the AH either.

Any advice?

Did you do the leatherworking quests in Feralas for the Wild Leather patterns?

I don't believe I did. I'll look them up, but is that a sepcific branch of LW, because I've already learned elemental. Thanks for the help.

Wild leather patterns should be open to all.

Indeed, they are. However, they are grey so no skillups. Looks like I'll have to farm some more scorpid scales which is boring, but oh well.

Thanks for the help!

Hmmm. I don't recall hitting a major blockage at that level, but it's been a while. Have you checked the recipe list to insure you're not missing a vend recipe that might fill the gap? I pretty much did wicked leather stuff all the way to 300, but I also farmed drop recipes.

I had the exact same problem - only I think it was 262 or sommin, but the wicked items helped me out loads. Also i spend a ***** load of gold buying patterns of the AH. That worked.

i remember doing a few scorpid then heavy scorpid recipes to get me to nightscape and wicked. after that you should be able to keep going on the wicked gear.

you mentioned you have recipes that give you skill ups, just that it's hard to get the scorpid scales. depending on your level, the scorpids you fight may not drop scales as often. from about 47 on, the scorpids in south tanaris, blasted lands, and burning steppes drop the scales fairly often..at least to where it will seem as if you're not just killing tons for a little return.

the best thing about the blasted lands and burning steppes is, though, that sometimes people are already killing the scorpids. if that's the case, just skin away.

Use Wicked Leather patterns! They are by far the best patterns to have for power leveling leather working. They require no special items and will skill you up to 300. The wicked patterns require only rugged leather, dye, and rune thread(last 2 from vendor) to make. Wickel leather headband is still yellow to me at 300, hehehe. Wicked Leather items usually sell reasonably quick and for a profit! Just do not flood the market with them. You should be able to find the patterns on the AH for around 5G each. I think they actualy drop in felwood from the demons. Good Luck!

wicked items are wicked....yeah I know really lame but seriously I woulda been stuck at roughly 290 LW for forever if it hadn't been for wicked leather headband.
