Silly question but how do you learn dis-enchant. Was told that you could learn it at enchanting 100 but not seen it at the trainer?

Exactly. Its one of the skills you get as soon as you learn enchanting. Check your book and you should find an icon for it. If you are actually planning to level enchanting, as apposed to using disenchant as a gathering skill, you can gain your first few points, perhaps up to 30, by disenchanting items. So don’t use up your materials on enchants until after this point. Enjoy it while you can for it’s the only time you can gain enchanting skill by disenchanting.

Disenchanting works like anything else you can skill up; you just can't see the colours. It starts out always giving a skillup (orange.) At about level 20-30ish you are very likely to gain a skillup (yellow.) At about level 35-45ish you are unlikely to gain a skillup (green.) And around level 50-60 you won't gain anymore skillups (grey.)
I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but I've personally disenchanted items up until level 50 Enchanting.

Thanks for the correction. I’ve only taken enchanting once and it’s been many months since I picked it up and took it to about 130. I just recently started leveling it again. So I couldn’t remember exactly how many points I gained before I had to start actually enchanting items for skill.
