Firebloom and Kag whisFollow

#1 Nov 09 2005 at 11:00 PM Rating: Decent
Where is the best place to pick Firebloom ? (aliance)

and Kadgar whisker? I've seen some of it around ref. point but seems I find less and less of it.

Picking herb safely I might add ... keep in mind for suggested locations of caster in the high 30's.

My main is a NE Priest, she is lvl 38 now. I couldnt figure out what you mean exactly by "picking herb safely", 'cause till now, i havent seen a "safe place" to gather herbs. Even in ashenvale, there is always at least one mob near the herb.. Bad news, situation doesnt change for high skill level herbs :)

I have found fairly good amounts of Firebloom in Badlands. It usually grows in desert-like terrain and stands alone ( not near a tree or a hill )

Khadgar's Whisker can be found easily in Arathi Highlands. I also picked it up in Stranglethorn Vale. Look near the trees, it has a growing habit just like briarthorn.

Hope this info is usefull for you :)
Good Luck

Yeah bad wording on my part, after posting I realized another way of saying would have been best.

example of what I meant of "picking herb safely" ....
Wild steelbloom. not excatly everywhere nor in the eastiest places to find or pick. When my character was at around par (or close to ) level monsters in wetlands area ... I found some wild steel bloom in a orc camp thats right when you cross over from Loc M / Dun to wetlands. (forgot the name of mob) but the steel bloom was all the way on the other side of the camp surrounded by mountains. Unless one has invis potion to run across, all the monsters would have to be engaged to get to the steel bloom. There is also another steelbloom I found but it too is on a rocky crest / ledge by a very large orc camp. Again the name escapes me of the exact name but it is the location of a quest, burning the catapults down. Alot of fighting and efforts just to get the herb. I dont mind fighting the random wanderings of field monsters but a entire camp cluster .. I wouldnt die at the chance of that.
Also didnt want to get pointed into a direction of higher level mobs just to pick herb. This is what I was meaning by picking herb safely...
any other suggetions on a location?

Try typing the name of your herb in the search box to the left, then clicking on the map locations given. I've found that feature very useful for almost all the questions that start "where can I find..."

At level 38, you're on the low end for most of the locations for Khadgar's whisker, although with a buddy, the Alterac Mountain locations, Stranglethorn Vale, or the Swamp of Sorrows might not be too bad. If you're on a PvP server, the horde tends to be a major PITA in the first two locations, though.

Firebloom, your best bet is probably the Badlands, but you're going to spend a lot of time fighting. My wife is also a herbalist - we've had good luck getting her herbs by having me run through the area where the herb is, getting all the mobs to chase me, then she rushes in and grabs the herb before they return. As a paladin, it takes me forever to actually kill anything, but most of the mobs get tired of following me long before they do any real damage, especially if I have a Seal of Light up.

I was helping out with a qs ( I think called Princess) that took us close to a horde fort. There was tons of Khadgars whisk there. I really stocked up. Some sprinkles of Wild steelbloom which also went with me. Imo, that Wild steelbloom is so tricky to find or I just loose patience trying to get to it.
In reference to your comments about the STV and SoSorrows locations .. honestly I'm drawing agre when I try to herb these areas. Not only that going it solo i get beat up pretty bad. SoSorrows is a major haven for any herbalist but some of the items were out of my skill lvl range. My map had so many dots there when I visited, it looked like a poke a dot shirt design.
In reference to badlands ... well its just bad and rotten. Again going solo is like playing suicide. I only ventured in to the upper portion of Badlands and promptly turned around to herb some swiftthistle in Loc M / Thel.
Not saying your suggestion location(s) are incorrect or bad but out of my reach at this point and time.
Ty for above poster with the link. Some rank lvl number attacked to the list would have been great. Its frustrating to clear out a camp only to find you need more skill to pick a purple lotus.
I'll be checking out these loctions in the future. Ty for the listings.
