Ok, besides the yeti cave in hillsbrad, what are good places to farm skinning. Right now my leatherworking is only at 75 so i need a place with good light leather for a lvl 27 rogue. After that I figure the yeti cave, then what after that?

Place I leveled mine quickly was Wetlands all the raptors by excavation site can be skinned. Also down in Duskwood Many wolves to kill and skin. If I remeber both areas are low mid 20s so you could kill and go quick as a 27 rogue

The basilisks in Stranglethorn vale will net you a very good supply of medium and heavy leather.

These Basilisks are along the coast just north of Grom'gol Base Camp. Alliance and Horde are stopping off there regularly to get 10 Singing Crystals for the "Singing Blue Shards Quest".

There is often a lot of competion for the basilisk kills and those toons who are even skinners will rarely take the time to skin their kill as they are off trying to find another basilisk before someone else gets to it.

The mobs spawn really quick - so even if you turned up at a quiet time you can grind these babies and more will turn up pretty quick.

I filled up a backpack in about 20 minutes.

ALSO - some of the basilisks drop a backbone which provides a nice shadow resistance buff if u want to keep hold of it for particular instances or bosses.

Wailing caverns in The Barrens. Almost everything there can be skinned, and what doesn't skin drops greens.

There are more Yeti mobs up in Alterac Mountains that can be skinned. Most about the same or little higher level than in the yeti cave. They spawn around the west side of the snowy area, so you can get back in there and not have to worry about anyone killing you on a PvP server.

Anything in STV can be tough on a PvP server, but if you are doing all the tiger/panther/raptor quests you can end up with a TON of leather in the process. Lots of other folks will be in the area doing the quests as well, so you can skin mobs they don't skin.

I'm currently looking for a good reliable source for heavy leather, the Yetis are dropping more medium than heavy for me. :(

Agreed with the guy who said by the excavation site in Wetlands. The quests given in this area require the killing of something like 30 raptors, in total. They spawn REALLY quickly, there are always loads of people hacking up raptors there, and the raptors have a chance to drop raptor scales too, which you'll need for later recipes... also by the whelplings at the bridge in Redridge: quest to kill 'em from nearby, and people are usually mean and pwn a couple of innocent lil' piggies as well.
Happy skinning.

My alt, currently lvl 31 NE hunter, has skinning 225 and I will have to spend 5g to be able to get my skinning to 300.

If you have skinning from the beginning, you shouldn't really concern yourself for the best location to farm leather. Every beast drops leather...

On the other hand, if you really want to make yourself nice and easy money, go to Duskwood, travel south of the Darkshire to the spot where there are those Vile Fangs and Tainted Ones (and other of their kind). These are the only monsters in the game that I know of that drop money (and cloth) and can also be skinned.

Yeti's drop both $$$ and can be skinned as well. But no better than the spot you've mentioned. Duskwood's a good call.
