Mining and EnchantmentsFollow

I recently started into the enchanting profession and am a little confused about the Disenchant aspect of the prof. Having read many of the posts about enchanting and how to do it, I thought that any green item could be d/e'ed to whatever dusts and shards and so forth. Does this apply to jewel items like Tiger's Eye and Malachite, and if so is there a min. level in Enchanting to do so?

I had been using the items I mined from an alt to supply these green items to my enchanter but found out that I could not disenchant them. Should my miner just be selling these jewels or is there a use for them?

The only gems I can think of used in enchanting is Aquamarine for speed and the ones used to make your various rods. You should go ahead and sell them at the AH, they are used alot in other professions.

As far as disenchanting goes, you can only disenchant green or better weapons and armor. Armor is likely to give you dust, weapons are likely to give you essences, although you can get it the other way around. Any green item has a chance to give you a shard, which are the most valuable, any blue item is guranteed to give you a shard, and any purple item is guaranteed to give multiple shards (although most people would cry if they heard about an epic being melted).

The GM of my guild melted a Epic to stop a argument,it taugh folks to not let Greed get in the way of a run, now a days we dont have problems, it is worked out very painlessly.

as a side note, i have had a green drop a shard and change, meaning 1 shard, and 3 dust.

And next patch epics drop nexus crystals which will be used in high end enchants apparently.

Epics do get DE'd, particularly the common BoE set pieces from MC. Once every hunter has a giantstalker piece there's not much else to do with it.
