BlackSmithing helpFollow

Hello,

I have been trying to become a decent Blacksmith, but cant seem to get above 87. I have spent a few days in the wetlands, which may have been most of my problem, but I cant seem to do anything with what I make. Everything i make is such a lower lvl then my own lvl its pretty much worthless to me and others in the same lvl area. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to get my Blacksmithing lvl'd up? Cant seem to find tin as much as I need, or silver for all that matters.

My advices to you are as follows:
-to gather tons of tin and copper in the same time (but mostly tin), resulting in huge masses of bronze, go to Stonewatch Keep in Redridge. It is a castle guarded by lvl 25 elite orcs. There are so many tin veigns, and some copper too, and lots of chests, that after you finish gathering them all, wait ten secons or so and go back top the first veign you mined and it's already reapearing... You can easaly collect enough ore to make huge quantities of broze.
-to max your skill quickly, forge A LOT of grinding stones (all kinds) stone is easy to collect and they seem to have a good chance of increasing your skill; when you have enough bronze to start wasting, forge bronze leggings and such, any good bronze item that does not require other materials;

Using these tactics I can guarantee you a 100+ blacksmith, for I have seen it come to pass. If someone knows better ways, please tell, but this is all I know.

Sounds like you need more recipes. Check out the "Trade Skills - by class" link on the bar to the left here, and see if there are any new recipes you can use. The ones that do not have <plan:xxx> are available from trainers, the ones that have it in white are sold by some of the vendors - click on the plan hotlink to find out where.

Good luck!

I've maxed out engineering and alchemy on previous characters.

Just started with a smithing warrior on a new server and I've found blacksmithing MUCH harder to level up than engineering. You need copper by the ton. As an engineer, I always felt I found about as much copper/tin/iron as I needed simply by going about the business of questing and grinding. But with blacksmithing, I've had to go out repeatedly on mining runs to feed the forge.

At twenty, I've gotten my skill up to 100, but it's been work in a way that my other two tradeskills were not. Just make sure to keep your rough stones. You'll need them as components in some of the low-cost bronze items you'll use to level up.

On my rogue im a 300/300 Herb/Alch and it was so much easier then now on my warrior.

I think at 58 im now 290 mining and 225 BS. To level your blacksmithing and do all the quests involved you really need more reagents then you will mine during you normal questing.

Now im in a big mithril crisis ie not having enough at all.

Yeah, my blacksmithing has been leveling up faster than my fighting. Just when I got to the point where I could actually mine reasonable quantities of mithril withou spending hours fighting, I find that all my mithril recipes are green now and I have to mine thorium! Do you know how much thorium you need to get the Imperial plate set of plans?!? :-(
