I am trying to become a weaponsmith and have accumulated 225 blackmithing points. I talk to mayor who says talk to ironus. Ironus still wont allow to specialize. Is there something I am missing or do I have a glitch.

What level is your character? I believe there may be a limit on when you are allowed to specialize.
I believe you must be level 40.
