Yeah i just grabbed Expert Mining (150-225) it was availaible at 125 so i grabbed it then, now when i try to smelt Iron at 125 skill it doesnt give me any bonuses off it so i have to mine 30 more Irons to increase to gold, is tehre a way to forget the expert mining so i can just use the iron i have (85) and smelt my way up? also where is quickest ways to get it to 300?

The fact that your iron mining doesn't give a skill up anymore has nothing to do with whether you have expert mining or not. When you started, your level was 1/75. the first number indicates your skill level. The second is just the cap. The cap increases when you pick up journeyman (150), expert (225), and artisan (300). It's the first number that determines whether you get a skillup from a particular node. So if you were able to step back down from expert to journeyman, (which you can't), it wouldn't affect your skill level other than preventing you to level past 150.

Easiest way to level up mining... concentrate on leveling your way to 40... get mount... proceed to run around the zone that uldaman is in (I want to say badlands... but the name escapes me ATM). Tons of iron and mithril (which you won't be able to mine for a while. I've tried farming pretty much every zone in the game and have used gatherer mod to track nodes and that zone is simply the best for iron and mithril. At level 60 (when I don't really have to deal with mob agro - mobs are in the high 30s to very low 40s) I can fill up my pack with ore/stone in about an hour. I often run a few circles around the outside of the zone and come back w/ enough ore for 3 stacks of mith and 2-3 of iron.

What LordMendus said. There is a also a forge and a vendor in the middle of the zone, so you can condense your load between circles and get rid of the inevitable vendor junk. The outside circle, especially if you go up the canyons, gives you mithril and iron, but there is also a lot of iron in the inner areas of the zone.

Even though iron is grey right now, it will still give skillups (although slowly) until you can actually mine mithril. I don't remember the actual numbers - just keep checking the mithril every 5 points of mining until it turns orange. Also, there will occasionally be a gold spawn where you expect iron, and that should be at least yellow, possibly orange for you now.

I think you're talking about smelting as opposed to mining, and yeah, after Iron goes gray I don't think you will ever get another point by smelting again, only that first hit on a vein/deposit will do. Kinda annoying, but you'll get there.

If you're not quite high enough for Badlands (mobs are lvl 38-45 IIRC) then I've seen some little iron in the worgen area in Duskwood and around the outside of Hillsbrad. Arathi also has some I think, although as the above poster said Badlands is the place to be.

Also, if you didn't know, any more than 275 mining is unneeded, the two highest nodes ATM are Dark Iron which is 265, and Rich Thorium which is 275. If you really want some +skill there's a Goblin Engineering Helmet(+5) and a +2 to gloves that I know about.

Good luck and happy mining.
