New Server, Bad EconomyFollow

#1 Aug 13 2006 at 5:12 PM Rating: Decent
I started a character on one of the newer servers. The problem is, the prices of almost everything change very erraticly.

I took up mining and herbalism. It's hard to even sell my wares. Th problem is there are very few 60's buying up material. Also, many retards don't know how to price things, and flood the market with incredibly low prices.

How should I deal with this? Just keep trying? Or should I stock my wares untill the economy settles down a bit, and more people make it to 60?

I plan on dropping herbalism for BS around 40, after I have my mount and a decent amount of gold. Is this still a good idea (following the popular money making guide written by a certain gnome), or does the unstability of the economy make a differece in the effeciency of the choices?

With a newer realm, there are probably less people with crafting professions, which means less people to buy raw mats on the AH. You may want to think about doing skinning/LW, herbalism/alchemy, or possibly mining/blacksmithing. That way, you can see what sells, and wrap your sales accordingly. Once raw mat sales exceed the demand for actual crafted items, just sell the mats.

Making gold will always vary from realm to realm- the wise player finds a niche in the market, and keeps his eye on changes in market demands. Smiley: boozing

Also keep in mind that every server has a different economy. An example: A server that has alot of people selling alchemy goods and less leather will decrease the value of alchemy, and will increase the prices of leather. All supply and demand. What sells for 50 gold on one server could sell for 60 on another.

And on new servers there are less lvl 60s. Not much gold floating around unless they buy gold online. Knowing this, sell stuff that is at the reasonable price for the timeframe of the server. As the server matures youll see the prices of things go up.
