Leather Bags, Leatherworking Recipe?Follow

Can leather bags (or any other 8 or 10 slot bags) be made using leatherworking? If so, can anyone on the blackwing lair server sell me the recipe for 1g or less?

No, I'm afraid that they can't. :-(

The only bag that can be made with Leatherworking is the Kodo Hide bag, a 6-slot Horde-only item.

Damn, that's what I thought. Well, since I'm poor and dont want to spend money in AH till i have some gold, I'll keep running rfc with guildies to get another red leather bag, then i'll have a backpack, 2 wool bags or whatever those 8 slots are, and 2 leather bags.

You'd think there'd be more recipes out there for bags on the LW'ing side...very sad.

The one leatherworking bag in the game was placed there to help out folks whent servers first open. It has one place in the game, a place with no clothies. Blizard added the kudo skin bag so that tauren players would have access to a low level crafted bag. Mulgor a 1-10 start zone for tauren would realisticly have no taliors, becuase no cow is a clothie. So blizzard was smart, they placed a hold over in Leatherworking, a item that would let players fill up the bag slots untill they could get to a area with some taliors(Cross roads). Bags are a taliors domain, and do not realy belong in the skills of leatherworkers(yes i know realisticly a bag made of leather is better than one made of ....silk).

UndeadCookie, A even better solution to learning how to make a bag, buy one. I understand that at lower levels it seems hard to make any money, but the awnser is right in the zone wehre you are leveling, The barrens. Level your fishing up to about 100 in thunderbluff, and fish one of the oassis in the barrens, once you have 20 deviate fish, take them to the AH on a weekend. You should eazaly have 5 gold comming back to you, at that point buy 2-3 mageweave bags and you are set(for a little while).

Another point I'd like to add is that Leatherworkers can make ammo pouches and quivers up to 16 slots. The market is smaller for those items (only Hunters need them) but it is, in essence, a bag that tailors cannot craft.

But you are close, remembering that a chunk of the bigger bags require some leather,i am damm sure if you farmed the cloth, and had triple the leaher you needed to make bags, any tailor who got sillups from making bags would be happy to craft some bags for you... using your mats.

P.S. Damm, just realised that i awnserd a question for UndeadCookie, my bad, next time i will remember to ignore his posts, because he always has such shiny things to say.

I think the market for the ammo pouches and quivers might be larger than you think. I've seen plenty of warriors and rogues use ranged weapons (why I don't know, I've just seen it). Don't forget, that along with more slots is a greater percentage added to ranged attack speed.

I use a ranged attack ,to lure a enemy out of a group of them. But thats the only reason. Plus i just started so I dont really know anyone. You get by ,with what you get by with.

As a warrior, I use a gun as a ranged weapon solely to pull mobs away from other mobs instead of just charging them and risking adds. This form of pulling really sux, but its all Ive got. Non-hunters do not get the autoshot for their ranged attacks (the closest thing is castors with their wands), and so i can only get one or two shots off before the mob is ready for the bussiness end of my whirlwind axe.

As for getting bags at lowby areas, your best bet is to entice the leveling tailor with free chances to level his skill, you provide the mats, he provides the bags. Ofcourse with any crafting prof, a tip is almost always customary, especially if the crafter was forced to find you or take time off from doing his own thing. Luckily the best way to tip a crafter is with free mats, so just give him extra stuff and he's bound to be happy crafting for you. After all if you paid him in gold, he'd be most likely to just spend it all on more mats, especially if he's leveling his skill.

Another option for getting bags, is to join a casual guild where you will not be reqiured to raid, which would be a good thing since you're much too little to raid anyway. Any good guild will provide many ammenities for their beginning guildmates including talbard, runecloth bags (if available, else lower quality bags), mounts upon reaching 40 and 60, mats for leveling your own crafts, and free gear and enchants. Worst case scenario is that you'll be asked for mats from whoever is crafting the item, which is fine considering that more hardcore guilds often require mats and gold as guild dues.

My pally is an artisan tailor, and since I don't have many clothie toons, he mostly makes bags, and so my bank alt is packed with a sick ammount of bags of varying sizes. When I get a chance, and get off my lazy ***** I intend to take all these bags and offer them to starting toons in Northshire abby. There's a chance that you'll run across someone who finds greater value in giving away these bags than trying to sell them on the AH.

Another great source for bags, especially if you have a gold to spare on a recipe, go to the AH and look for bags, chances are you can find a few that sell for a descent price, and since I've never been able to sell them on the AH, whatever there is there, you'll more than likely be able to win a bid for some sickly low ammounts of cash.

Warriors and rogues will most likely not devote an entire bag slot to an ammo pouch or quiver. They'll keep a stack or 2 of arrows in a normal bag because they will only use 1 at a time to pull a mob. I have never seen a warrior or rogue stand back and use their ranged weapon to attack.

Pretty much, a Warrior or Rogue trying to attack with his Gun/Bow kiting a mob around is like trying to play a melee hunter, very painful in the long run.

I normally just have a single stack of bullets used to pull mobs out of hiding or away from packs, and I've never needed an increase to firing speed for this...
