The results of /enchantrix percentless do not appear in the auction house. A list appears in the chat window. You then need to individually search for the items in the AH. It is a good idea to make sure the price of the item on the AH matches the price on your list. Sometimes the list item will have been purchased, leaving only higher priced auctions. Other times, there will be multiple auctions for the same type of item with a wide range of prices, such as in the case of crafted armor.

Please note that the scan will take several minutes if it is working correctly. Mine usually runs between 15~20 minutes for around 200 pages. I use a different method of selling than Veliv. Instead of trusting auctioneer to calculate a price, I look up each dust, essence, or shard type to check the going rate. I usually price mine to slightly undercut the majority of the auctions. If the current price is too low, then I put mine up at the median buyout price since there is no cost to list enchanting mats. Normally the AH price comes back up at some point. I find that auctioneer undercuts more than I normally would and is not usually the ideal price. This method takes longer, but I save a fixed price and just use that when I am in a hurry. Hope this helps.

I do about the same as you. I generally keep my dusts/essences around the same price and then just sell them off. I have found that:

-Greater Magic Essences sell better than lesser
- And I sell them by themselves (not in stacks)
-Strange Dust sells very well, especially in stacks of 20
- Other dusts sell just as well, even when in broken stacks
- Higher Dusts/Essences are gone in a matter of a couple hours
-Glimmering shards don't sell that well, alyhough within a week they are normally gone

I try to make sure that I do not bring down the market with prices. I was one of the first people (that I could tell) on my server to do this, and I was undercutting people by a lot of money (some at half price). Now that this practice has become a little more prominant I have to be careful.

One thing you can do after you have your list: Open Auctioneer and go to the browse tab. If you then press the alt key while clicking on the item in your chat window, the item will come up in Auctioneer's browse window. . .as though you had just done a search on that item. One thing to remember, as someone else pointed out, is to make sure the buyout you do is on the item with the price that /enchantrix percentless brought up for you, as there may be more than one.

Still doing this. I think word must have gotten around (or one of you critters is on my server *grin*) as I sometimes have a bit of difficulty even finding something worth disenchanting. But the technique has become a great adjunct to my other money-making activities. I've gone from usually hovering around 3-10 gold, to averaging 85-100 gold on hand. It would be even more if I didn't insist on upgrading equipment and have to sometimes buy cloth and reagents to skillup my professions. I don't use a mule. I'm an enchanter myself. I save some of the choicest disenchants for my bank vault. ;)

You write the /percentless to the chat prompt (which comes up when you push enter). Just like doing /dance

Adn usually the auctioneer calculates nice price for items and you dont have to check anything, but if you want to be sure that the auctioneer price database isnt screwed up (this will rarely happen when you scan more often)

Good luck^^ hope this helped

If you have just gotten Auctioneer, it's probably best to scan (daily, or twice daily) for about a week before attempting to cash in on displayed prices. Build your database first. The better the data, the more you can trust the amount to be made.

Update: I've been at this sinc 9/29 (12 days), and I have a bit over 200 gold. Lots more is tied up in inventory in the auction house (about another 300G) and in bids (about 100G). Simply said, it's a matter of cash flow, and my gold only seems to be increasing at about 17G/day. Still, it's not a bad amount for a level 11 toon to have.

edit:
I've also spent a bit of gold, too -
I upgraded all bags to mooncloth 16-slotters (100G)
Purchased a blue wand for my L37 'lock (15G)
Paid back my main the 10G starting gold.

Without that money spent, I'd be well over 300G on hand.

On castillo, who is lvl 20 priest, the time played is 4days. Dont know how much of this time I have spent making money and how many times I helped ppl thru RFC but He has 1390g atm. I think I have spent about 500g on others chars, maybe even more:P

So roughly 1390g+500g~1900g in four days played, thats almost 500g in a day:P But that just the time spent online with the mole, I have been doing this for over 3 or 4 months now.

Hello,

I just recently tried this strategy out, because i need to farm 500g for my mount so i thought i'd give this a shot..

anyway I installed auctioneer and enchantrix, scanned the ah..

I typed "/echanctrix percentless 50"

and all i get is an empty list... Someone please tell me that I'm doing something wrong and it's not my realm that has messed up enchanting prices =\
#90 Oct 13 2006 at 5:33 AM Rating: Decent
well first of all it is

/enchantrix percentless <x>

so maybe you typed it wrong -- although that would give you an error...

Maybe try building your pricing database for a few more days with auctioneer.

So do an /auctioneer scan all for a few days to get a database of prices before going all willy nilly.

I dont get it.
There must be more to it because I can't seem to make money. I'll buy something for 12s, disenchant it and get 2 or 3 stange dust and those sell for like 5 silver total. I'm so confused :(

Make certain that you have a good database for Auctioneer. Perform a scan twice a day (at least) to ensure that it is current. If you can't log in every day, this method of making gold is not for you. Find a book to read while the scan os proceeding.

Then realize that the 50% profit that you are looking at is based on all possible results of your disenchant. If it's 75% Strange dust (1.5), 17% Lesser Astral Essence, 8% Small Glimmering Shard, it will factor in the price of the other two results, so that your average profit is 50%. The profit will be greater on some results than others, but you should average 50%.

Arrgghhh. Now that BC is just around the corner this is working so much worse than it used to. Made a total of about 275g off it which is good, but in the past 2 weeks I've only netted 20g.

hey guys

ive been trying to learn how to make some cash lately for my mount.. and so i saw this post and decided that i had nothing to lose.. so now i have been trying it for 3 days and started out with 15g and now i have to say that it does work... i currently have 13g in my hand and a bunch of auctions that are pending.. it definitely works... but i do have questions...

1. what does "disenchant dsp" "disenchant median" "disenchant baseline" quite mean..
2. when i use /enchantrix percentless 50 and the data pops onto my screen.. there are values that are assigned each items worth.. how is this calculated??? is it acurate??
3. is there a way that i could get better items? seems that when i use percentless50, 60, 70.. there arent that many items to buy.. is it just my realm? or is ther a way i could purchase higher items in order to gernerate more cash.. faster??

any help would be great

thanks

Try using 30 and 40. Your profit margin will be lower, but more items will appear on the list.

Well This started to work for me. I got up to 146g but i think the word must have spread on my server cause the price for 10 Greater Astral Essence went from 10g to 5-6g.. Not only that but now when i do the /enchatrix percentless 50 there's usually only 10 or 15 things instead of the 60+ there were last time

o well atleast it was great for a short time. I made some money off it.

The secret to my success with enchantrix:
/enchantrix percentless 20

Sure, 50 is fine when you are starting up, but after a short while, you can afford to buy out all the 50's, and the 40's. When you can clear all of those out, and examine everything meeting the 20% profit margin, you can start really making money. This is where you will find a decent amount of higher level items. Remember, 20% of 5g is more than 50% of 25s.

And you've also got to think of where all the profit is. Everyone knows that you tend to lose a little on dusts. And dusts typically are the common DE of armors, whereas essences are the common DE of weapons, and uncommon DE of armor. If you find yourself with only enough money for a few items, buy the weapons, they are more likely to provide you with essences. Another thing to consider is how much of a profit you would be making from the armors if you were to get the uncommon DE (essences). I find that I make some of my more comfortable profits buying armors that DE into illusion dust/greater eternal essences. The illusion dust is usually a small loss, or breaking even with the initial purchase, so the profit is basically all in the essences. In many of the cases i've seen, the number of essences is listed as 1.5 or 2.5, which is what you should be looking for. The armors I am thinking of list these products as occuring about 20% of the time, or 1 in 5 attempts. What you should hope to see are these numbers being rounded up (2 or 3 essences) because these spell higher profits. Otherwise, you are probably a lot closer to having broken even. And honestly, who ever heard of a "break-even quick" scheme?

And finally to selling your products. Although I'm sure many of you have found this out by now, there are a few factors to consider when putting up your dusts and essences. Single, or stack? Lesser, or greater? With dusts, my rule of thumb is to put up singles if the stack is considerably more expensive than 5 or 6g. Like on my server, illusion dust is around 1g per single. At the end of the day, i dont usually have a stack of these, and i dont know if anyone would drop 20g at once if i did. I dont have too much of a problem selling the rest of my dusts in stacks, though at one point i experimented in putting up dream dust in stacks of 4. Cant remember why i did that, but i put them up in stacks of 20 now. Essences are somewhat tricky. First thing is first, I find out which sells for more, one greater, or three lessers. Then i figure out which sells better. I prefer selling the more expensive form, but not if it takes me a week longer to sell it. The same price guidelines i used to break up dust stacks applies here. That's about it for my experiences with this method of money conjuring, so I guess i should wrap this up.

People of Garona may continue reading beyond this point.

So in summary, that is how I not only found the alliance markets of Garona to be incredibly hostile to this practice, but I also contracted Feline AIDS through the use of auctioneer with enchantrix. Yep, and i'm certain that anybody attempting to horn in on this imaginary profit lode will likely come to the same conclusion, and affliction.

Now if we can just get the admins to delete this thread and borrow one of those memory reset tools from the Men in Black.... ;)

I have not tried using 20 before, but 30 has similar results. I feel a little dirty disenchanting blue set pieces, but when people sell them for 3G buyout it's impossible to resist. One problem with both 20 and 30 is the incredibly long list that appears when you don't buy all items from the 40 and 50 scans. (I usually don't other with items lower than level 30) There have been times when the beginning of the list scrolled off the top of the chat window text buffer.

Hi Guys, ok I tryed the Guide and I encountered something where i´m not sure if this is correct.

1st I scan the Auction House. Takes around 5 min.
2nd I use enchantrix (/enchantrix percentless 50)

then I start buying the items from the list i get and d/e them.

Now my Problem. Enchantrix seems to overvalue some items on the d/e Value.

I get very high values i.e. lvl 49 green Bracers, which d/e into ~80 % dreamdust x3,5 , ~20 Lesser Eternal Essence x1,5 , ~3 % small brilliant shard x 1, enchantrix gives a value of 62g76s. The BO on this one is 10g.

Is this correct ? To me it seems there is something wrong. Unfortunatly this totaly screws up my list since a lot of those items get ontop of the list.

Help would be very appreciated.

Bare with my english, i´m form germany
