Where should I go if I have 162 Fishing? I want the best items I can get at that level, so... yeah... Also, what level is recommended to fish at the Twin Colossals?

The Trade Skills Sticky (1st post on this forum) gives you information on how to determine what level zones you can fish in, based on your fishing skill level, and also tells you good spots for fishing. Combine the 2 sets of data and you can figure out just where to go.

You actually don't need to go anywhere new to level fishing. Basically, the more you level up, the more successful catches you need to get another level. You can successfully level to 300 in your starting area if you want. You just move to higher level areas to catch higher level fish if you want to eat them / cook them / sell them, or to start catching "moneymaking" fish.

This is true of you are only interested in improving your fishing skill, but not if you want to catch interesting/profitable fish and items. At 162, I would consider Deviate Fish in the Barrens or Stonescale Eels in Tanaris (Steamwheedle) with Aquadynamic Fish Attractors. (I would catch some Deviates first and try for 170~180 before going to Tanaris) You will miss some fish in Tanaris at first, but things will get better as your skill increases. Both of these options will also vary in viability based on your type of server and faction. Fishing for Deviates as an Alliance player on a PvP server is just asking for frustration.

Attacking a man while he's fishing!! That's just not right.

Nahhhh...

I've fished for Deviates with lots of success on a PVP server. Most of the time, though, I've been with 1 or 2 guildies, and we're all level 60. :)

Fishing in Tanaris can be fun "combat fishing". A tauren druid and I ended up in a fight for stonescale eels last night. Fishing up wreckage is pretty fun.

just go at night in tanaris for the stonescale. or if you have 300 fishing skill go to bay of storms in aszhara. you get stonescale eels regularly day or night: about a stack per hour.
