Well, Ive gone from 1-40, and raised alot of money with Herbalism/Skinning.
I bought my mount, bought some armor, and trained, im at 42 now. I stand at 30gold, and im going to raise 70 more.

Then, with 100 gold, i was thinking that i could drop herbalism for leatherworking, and take my first crafting profession. And use the 100 gold to buy lots of patterns.

But i have a question, can someone make money with leatherworking?

With any crafting profession such as leatherworking, you're either going to need a really rare recipe, farm all the materials on something that sells frequently, or be at or close to 300 skill. You're probably going to end up making more money with gathering professions than with crafting until at least you're level 60 and can farm higher level materials much easier.

I have to agree with Para here. I have a 300 dragonscale LW. I make absolutely no money out of it. I don't think I have sold anything except the odd armour kit. Their maybe some money to be made out of Tribal LW, Devilsaur and the lie, but that is nothing compared to what Herbalism can get you. If you want to craft I would look at getting alchemy instead. People are always using potions som you would have a returning market. I believe greater fire and greater nature protection potions sell well.

I agree with the two previous posters. You can make money off of production skills in certain instances, such as having a rare pattern, or having a high-demand item (black dragonscale armor comes to mind). However, if you're looking for more ways to make money (as opposed to making money with just LW), check the link in my sig. It's been recently revised (but needs a little more refining).
