Bugged copper node.Follow

#1 Feb 26 2007 at 7:55 AM Rating: Decent
I was farming copper and fishing blackmouths in longshore and I came across a nice looking node.
I started mining and all was well, I was surprised when after 6 loots the node was still there.
I kept going, getting copper ore again and again thinking it was me lagging and it would disconnect me any moment.
It didn't, I took a step back and mouse overed the node on my minimap and it turned out there were 8 nodes all packed into one space.
I kept mining and got about 20 more loots then stepped back again to take a look.
There were still 3 nodes there, it seems they respawn there fairly quickly.

Question is, should I tell a GM about this or check back tonight and see if it's still there?
I already have 5 stacks of copper in the AH, if it's still there tonight (it's not easy to find) I'm going to see how much I can get from it.
If it's still there is it wrong to let my guild know about it?

Yeah.. you're most definately alliance.

Here's what you do.. mine it for all it's worth and tell nobody. Create another toon and call it whatever you want "Imnoobbank" for one and deposit all your ore and bars there, selling a few stacks a day on AH and in Trade.

Don't waste the GM's time Mr. Goody

I'm not thinking of telling a GM for some moral cause, just cause I know there's something in the EULA about not exploiting a bug or something similar.
Don't want to get banned for it (slim chance I guess).
I'll head back tonight and if it's still there, fill up all 6 of my bags (***** the ammo pouch) with copper =]

So I went back last night, managed to get 13 stacks of copper ore, 5 malachite and 4 shadowgems plus a stupid amount of stone.
Checked again this morning and it's gone, not even one there anymore. *cry*
At least I'm getting 1g per stack on AH now instead of the 30s a while back when the market went screwy!

Nice on finding that. It makes my day when I stumble across 2 or 3 veins right on top of one another. Shame I haven't found any mithril or gold veins like that yet.

But 1g per stack of copper bar? Eeeh...we only manage sixty silver on our server and that's if we're lucky. But then again, that's just the horde side. I have no clue what it goes for on alliance AH.

What zone?

damn, nice find. And a stack of raw copper is 1g50s whereas a stack of bars is 1g on my server (and about 40000 others, lol) :S

Do you know what "zone" means? Longshore is not a zone in Kalmidor, the Eastern Kingdoms, or The Outlands. After looking it up I see that it is an area in the Westfall zone.

This didn't work for me. I got one clean hit off it and it dissapeared. Maybe someone recently hit it on my server.

I've never seen any nodes like this other than copper, and I've only seen doubles and maybe a couple triples. I think it happens some times when people are mining ALL the nodes in an area very quickly so when they respawn there is a chance that multiples in a "cluster" spawn in the same place. What you found is probably extremely rare.

Edit: there is a good discussion of how mineral nodes work here http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=69;mid=117156635592761272;num=14;page=1

I've had something like that happen, where I've gotten two nodes on top of each other, but never that much... Although I did get adamantite and eternium ore, a blood garnet, and a nightseye out of one adamantite node a few days ago.
