Yeah like the thread says, I've been here on the savage coast (just SE of the Bal'lal ruins, no coords as I dont have addons atm) for 80 minutes, caught probably 120+ fish so far, and I still have yet to catch the fish for the 225-300 quest. Anyone have any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Wow, that's some terrible luck.

I recall catching each of the fish for the quest Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme in less than ten minutes at each location. The travelling was the hard part.

In STV it was bad luck, in Feralas I was at the wrong river. I wasn't sure if it was right, but being level 35 in Feralas I didn't want to do much exploring =P. Oh well, my cooking is 300/300 at level 35, which I think is an accomplishment.

It can be rough getting there, but you can get the Feralas fish at Level 35. I was 35 when I did the fishing quest. You can fish the correct river right from the path. I don't have access to get you the coords at the moment, sorry. The only problem is getting to the spot. You may very well die coming from the east, but once you're through that nasty section in the middle, you can run all the way over to the dock and go over to Feathermoon to fly out.

Good Luck.

This is an interesting thread. I’ve done the fishing quest on nine alliance characters and two horde characters and as mentioned above I’ve gotten the fish I need at each location in less than ten minutes, often within the first five casts.

In Desolace I stand atop a small “hill” on the shore next to Ethel Rethor.

In Feralas I simply follow the road from Desolace towards the horde base. When I come to the ogres on the right side of the road I look to my left and there’s a river just off the road, just before the road curves. That’s where I cast my line.

In the Swamp of Sorrows I follow the mountainside on the right, coming from the general direction of Duskwood, and squeeze past the horde base. I keep following the mountainside, past the murloc cave, all the way to the shore. There, between the two murloc camps, is where I fish. Just be careful of the giant crocs.

For some reason, Stranglethorn Vale has always given me the most memory trouble. I think it’s because I spend so much time fishing all over this zone. I believe I usually fish across from the troll camp near Balal Ruins. Just be sure your mini map reads Savage Coast and only Savage Coast. If it reads Southern Savage Coast your in the wrong spot.

IIRC, when I did this quest I walked out into the water just a bit until "Savage Coast" came across my screen. One cast, two fish, one being the quest fish. Cords should be 25,19.

some other good tips can be found here:
