Night Elves and MiningFollow

Okay I will warn you, this does have the potential to be a stupid question for all of you "seasoned" WoW players. Say I want to start a Night Elf and Mine, I would like a second opinion on this because I never seen any minerals of any sort around Darnassus or Dolanaar.

There arent any. Take the boat to the wetlands and from there run to dun morough (the dwarf starting place). There is tons of copper there that will last you untill skill 75ish. From there go to loch modan where theres tin to mine and from then on the metal scales with the lvl of the zone.

Mining isn't even taught on Teldrassil. You have to go to Auberdine in Darkshore to get trained. Darkshore is also where you will find your first ore nodes as a Night Elf.

Well if you didn’t have mining before, then you didn’t have the ‘find minerals’ skill, which puts a yellow dot on your minimap when the ore is nearby. Granted, as you said, in SW and IF areas, you can often physically see the ore vein, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any around NE starting areas.

However, since I consider that Elwynn/Westfall and Dun Morogh/Loch Modan are much smaller starting areas than Darkshore/Astranaar, I really prefer to mine in those 2 areas, and I would suggest the same for you, even if you start up as NE.

Eg, keep the skills you want and around lvl 10 or 15, when you’re ready to do some traveling (earlier, possibly), then just head over to those other areas.

There are absolutely no ores in the night elf starting area because its a giant tree. Go to the other starting areas like ohmikeghod said.

There's no need to run a NE to Wetlands/Dun Morogh to mine. Just wait until you get to Auberdine around level 10 and train there. As you quest around Darkshore, there are plenty of nodes to skill up on.

You can't pick up and skill up mining with a NE as soon as other races, but there's no need to go trudging off to another continent to do so. Just stick to Darkshore.

What azwing said..stick to Auberdine area to level. Primary reason is because there is less mining pressure there whether you're on a new server or an old one.

The majority of players are on the other continent. Make this work to your advantage.
