First of all, thats a really long sentence
Second use the Geography/ Zones by Level... feature on the left bottum on this site to check out the best zone for you:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/Level_Chart.html

After picking a zone use the Bestiary/By Zone... (also on left buttom)feature to check out the mobs walking around there and what they drop etc.:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/dyn/mobs/byzone.html

Also check out the Quests/By Zone... to pick up some quests while your at it, most quests provite you with good XP and gold and sometimes even some good gear:

Mining and Skinning is the best combo for easy money making IMO.

Check out STV at level 30/31 as you will make a lot of money skinning there!

Fishing will also make you good money. It has the unfortunate side effect of cutting into your levelling time, but you should still level it (along with cooking).

Before you get to the outlands, you can make gold from Firefin Snapper, Oily Blackmouth, Stonescale Eels, and Deviate Fish. When you get to the outlands, cooking what you catch can make you even more gold.

It depends on the fish.

Oily Blackmouth, Firefin Snapper, and Stonescale Eels can't be cooked - they are sold to Alchemists, who turn them into Blackmouth Oir, Fire Oil, or Stonescale Oil for use in their recipes.

Deviate fish can be sold raw or cooked into Savory Deviate Delight.

Most Outland fish are better sold cooked.

thank you
where is a good place to fish for someone who just got it

where you picked up the skill would be good. You will need to buy some bobbers/bait in order to be able to start catching fish at a decent speed though as you will be having a lot of the 'your fish got away' messages.

Raise your skill to 100 before you go out and try it to make gold. That means skilling up in the newbie areas. Use lures - they are your friend.

After you've gotten your skill up, go to
(Alliance)
Menethil Harbor and fish for Firefin Snapper and Oily Blackmouth.
(Horde)
The barrens and fish in the oases for Deviate fish.

I'm not sure what you call significant, but it got my first 5 toons their L40 mounts, and my main her epic mount (before BC, when it was 1000G for the epic). I also had enough gold to power-level alchemy to the old 300 cap pre-BC.
