Leather Working Vs. Tailoring helpFollow

#1 Aug 06 2007 at 5:17 PM Rating: Decent
Hello everyone, I have a question. I have a druid doing skinning and herbalism and I have a lock doing enchanting. Now for his second skill I know I want it to be leather or tailoring but don’t know which one would be of more benefit to me. Any insight you can give would help thanks.

A warlock would get NO benefit from leatherworking at all, they can't wear leather and there isn't anything else you can make that would be worth it.

Take tailoring if you want one or the other, then you can make bags for all of your characters. Plus, once you get to 70 you can make an awesome set for yourself.

I agree with Khalane that Tailoring is a better choice for a cloth armored class like Warlocks, but I would like to point out the small issue of Armor Kits, though not comparable to the benefits of Tailoring, it does have some value to all classes.

Some Leatherworking examples;

Magister's Armor Kit

Clefthide Leg Armor

Shadow Armor Kit

Some Tailoring Examples;

Primal Mooncloth Bag

Spellfire Bag

Ebon Shadowbag

Mystic Spellthread

Silver Spellthread

Not to mention all the Cloth Armor you can make! ... and the Shirts.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FINAL VERDICT: TAILORING You can acquire Cloth while playing BOTH toons from killing humanoids, while Leather is restricted to your skinning toon and further to killing beast mobs.

The druid could drop one of the gathering skills and pick up the matching manufacturing skill. Either alchemy or leatherworking would work fine for the druid. Every class gets benefits from alchemy. Druids would also do fine with leatherworking as they wear leather armor. My druid is herbalism / alchemy.
