Why only 1 Fist weapon??Follow

Blizzard has put very little effort into fist weapons. Pre-BC there were basically none, and in BC there are maybe 4 decent ones in the entire game. People care more about staves with things on them, swords, big maces, all that stuff. There has been very little time put into fist weapons in general.

Fist weapons are the red headed stepchild of the weapons. From 1-70, there's maybe two of them, four if you count the white ones you can buy from vendors. At BC, Blizz has tried to make them more common, but they're still pretty rare, there's maybe 10 or so for 70s.

There are some excellent ones out there but ussually the lack of availability makes it not worth being fists.

Cause its hard to find a replacement once you level enough. Plus what is better than yours might not be as good as the dagger or sword at the same level.

At 70 there are some excellent fists. The reflex and stormreaver. Not special but nice. Then theres the big bad wolfs paw. The red orc warchief drops lovely ones in normal and heroic [specially heroic].

the pheonix ones RULE. but their quite far away.

The gladiator ones are lovely. definately a better choice than most of the level 70 ones. but thats true of all gladiator items.

alright now i checked allakazams search and in total from 1-70 there are 73 fist weapons registered. thrown has 56. xbows has 56. polearms are 80.

thats terribly low.

swords had 333 registered. daggers has 352. The two hands are around the same.

ofcourse theres some variance in the more common weapons. Like some meant for casters [healing and dps] and some for melee dps. Some for palies and some for warriors. Shamans and druids really depends on your spec.

The fist weapon should be made much faster. You can repeatedly punch quicker than you can stab or slash. Also when enchated the make your hands look like the glow. They definately need more and better fist weapons.
