Do you have to have a flying mount to access Abyssal Flamebringer?

Yes, they're only found on the plateau in BEM, in one of the Forge camps near Ogrila. You need to fly to get there, sorry :(

Actually, never Alt+F4 to "logout" while hovering above the camps.. did that when I had to leave quickly and came back to find myself dead in the air; too high to rez myself!

For those new to this area, don’t fly very high in the air when approaching the forge camps either. There’s a level 72 elite dragon that flies over this area, and if you fly too high he’ll take notice of you and let you know in no uncertain terms that the air is HIS territory.

I died twice the first time I did this quest, as I had not yet started the daily quests from the ogres so I had never been there before. First the dragon knocked me off my mount and I discovered just how hard the ground actually was. Then I found out that there are fel cannons in the camp, the hard way. *sigh*

Also be watchful of the humanoids that tend to wonder from the camps in pairs. These are casters with fairly long agro ranges. I can fly fairly low over the other mobs in the area and they won’t give me a second look. But these guys will target me and try to blast me from the sky.

I've seen at least two, and possibly three, differently named dragon's flying over this zone at various times and places. Yeah, don't fly too high.

Or too low. As a Pally, I hate these guys. And the NPCs in the Skyguard camp aren't interested in helping if you drag them over there.

Regarding the OP's Super Hot Stew quest question, when you do get a flying mount and do the quest, the Abyssals are only found in the southern camp - cannot remember which Forge camp it is. Also, after you kill the Abyssal you need to stand somewhere inside its corpse to cook your stew. Standing next to it won't do.

Good Luck, and three cheers for the cooking quests - I love them!

You don't even have to kill the thing yourself. You just wander around where other people are killing and find the corpse of one and stand in the middle of it and cook.

There are 2, Rivendark and Obsidia.
Other 2 are at Bashirs Landing.
