Last time i did bot i discovered i could herb pick warp splinter. I got 2 black [or was it fel?] lotus's off him.

This sorta cheesed me since ive done bot so many times before and not realised.

so one question.

Does he drop flask herbs every time? SInce he's the last boss he might have a better drop rate for such stuff.

Has anyone checked this out?

he could be a very viable farming resource for guilds since you can avoid every boss in botanica.

That is a good question, although I believe the time it takes to get to warp splinter (going through all of the trash) it would be easier to do a few dailies and buy a couple.

It would still take you ~45 minutes or whatever to get there, to get a chance at 40g, and that is with 4 or 5 people. Assuming you are there with guildies in that 30-60 minutes you could have each done about 3 or 4 dailies and each getting enough money to buy a few lotuses on the AH instead of just one person getting two.

I have run Bot as an herbalist at least a dozen times and only 1 time not been able to herb/skin the last guy..(here was loot left on him that some one didnt pick up before they ported out {vendor trash type stuff} and you cant herb/skin unless everything is looted)

i have yet to get a black or fel lotus off of herb/skinning him. i usualy get felweed, motes of life and one or 2 other random herbs.

your particular herb/skin was a lucky loot. now, he does herb/skin for alot more items then a regular mob like a Bog Lord, but the loot table should be the same.

I have gotten black lotus off of the bog lords in Zangarmarsh more then a few times. I have yet to get a fel lotus from an herb/skin though.

....so, a good resourse for extra stuff if you are running Bot...but nothing efficent to speciffically farm for...your better off questing for cash and buying lotus rather then farming him specifically to herb/skin him.

Last night was the first time I had been to Botanica and successfully defeated Warp Splinter. After badges and all was looted, the herb icon showed up when I moused over him, but upon attempting to "herb" the corpse, I got a message saying "that corpse cannot be skinned" ?

first question....is your herb skill maxed? not sure if that would make a differance, but, thought i would ask in case you maybe were a skill point or so shy of the requirement.

i have not run Bot on Heroic with an Herablist toon. I have run it on reg many times and not had the problem...noless loot was left that i couldnot remove and then herb....why it would change from H to reg or if that would make a differance...no clue.

sorry i cant be of help

Yah its maxed, it was just the whole "skinning" reference that really confused me. Never had that message before, even when I was still training up herbalism.

You can also mine the 2nd boss in Mana Tomb, and he usually drops Planar Essence (enough lesser to make a Greater and some change).

I have yet to be able to skin him on heroic. :(

If you want to farm some of the rarer herbs, head up to skettis and kill those big trees roaming around. They usually drop 2-3 good herbs (terocone, ancient lichen, etc) and sometimes motes of life. You won't spend nearly as much time farming these guys as you would spend on a Bot clear, and they're easily solo or two-manable.

FTFY.

If you know what you're doing, you can solo these relatively easily, although I would count on having to blow a couple cooldowns and maybe a pot, depending on class. For elites, they don't hit that hard. I've watched Warlocks solo them without ever being touched (they're Fearable), Paladins do their whole chip-it-down-while-being-the-closest-thing-to-immortal thing... Only thing I really hate is the fact that non-herbalists are basically uninterested in them, so I can never harvest the body. >_<

Edit: Typo.

Make sure you remember to herb the bog lord looking guys in SSC. You get heaps and heaps of Felweed and such off of those guys. Probably obvious to most people, but just throwing it out there.
