Jewelcrafting and enchanting are the only two professions that don't allow you to specialize in some area or aspect. I'm curious to see if anyone has given any thought to what a good specialization would be for enchanters?

You mean, hypothetically?

Armor enchanter and weapon enchanter! Matches the whole armorsmith/weaponsmith thing too. OR maybe... Enchanters vs disenchanters! That'd be pretty whack though...

I'd spec DE

By specializing, those other profs get awesome BoP items. I like my ring enchants, but I don't want any more enchants that I can only do on my own gear. I want ppl to buy my mats off the AH, so I want everyone (including non-enchanters) to be able to get enchants.

I can see a DE spec similar to the alechmy specialties. When we DE something, we'd have a chance to get extra amounts of that material. That would really drive demand for the higher level craftables such as Heavy Cleftoof boots and the Imbued Netherweaves since they DE into LPS's. But the poor braided copper ring might never be feel the chanter's caress again :(

Another specialty that would be nice would be scrolls (enchanted paper?) I'd like to see a consistant supply of the scrolls I use (since the curious crates only give me the +Spirit ones). This might fall under the new inscription profession with WotLK, but I don't remember reading anything along those lines.

Has anyone given a thought to the new profession that's coming in the next expamsion? Inscription. It's like enchanting, but instead of augmenting armor and weapons, it works on spells, talents, and skills.

I saw a post one time of a guy asking in the suggestion forums that they make JC specs and a blue actually responded. He said:

"I would spec star of elune."

lol. Stuff like that and speccing DE is why you probably will never see JC or enchanting specs.

Yea pretty much agree with most posts here. Doubt that you'd find a good specilization for enchanting or JC for that matter. Specing as a DE'er would be kinda stupid becuase as one post states, the AH would blow up with people trying to sell mats.

What I think would be kind of cool though would be some type of specilization for the different classes. Like maybe have a dps specilization so that certain enchants give better AP, +stamina, +crit, or for tanks +stamina, +defense, or +threat, then for those healers that seem so rare on my server + healing on flash of light, + 40 mana regeneration

Cant remember where I saw or heard it, but I saw something about they are making it possible to make some kind of "scrolls" to enchant stuff on your equipment, so you can put up "enchants" on the AH.

Sounds pretty cool, but I have the feeling if it does get inserted into the game, somehow people will learn how to f**k it up.

That was in a future generic patch note for way down the line.

Anyway as far as the OP I have no real argument for JC specialization.

But an arguement against Enchanting Specialization is that enchanting is the only profession that comes with it's own gathering profession.

Engineering and Blacksmithing, both need to take mining to compliment it for mats.

Alchemy you need herbalism to compliment it.

Jewelcrafting needs both ores and bars from minning to compliment it

Tailoring doesn't really need any gathering profession since the majority of it's mats are cloth that drop off of humanoids, but at the same time it does use a lot of leathers from skinning, and gems from mining, even enchanting mats from enchanters.

Enchanting uses only mats obtained through disenchanting, which comes with taking the enchanting profession.

But like I said no real arguement for JC specialization. Hell I even thought of a nice one.

You can choose the path of the gem cutter and every time you cute a gem you get a chance at getting either a second cut gem out of the deal(I'm thinking along the lines of the transmute specialist in alchemy, only transmutes can get up to 5, but also has a 24 hour cd, so I limited it to 2 for JC since there is no CD).

Or you can go the way of the gem setter. Basically the guy who sets gems in rings and such, but for WoW it's more of a gear specialization where you get access to some nice trinkets and ring patterns.

Side Note: Engineerings specialization for the most part is still Pre-BC, it isn't that spectacular, unlike the other crafts specialization, both goblin and gnomish engineering are nothing noteworth that stands out in either specialization that wasn't there pre-BC.

Gemcutter spec for JCs:

Gives you a chance upon cutting a green quality gem to have it end up with the stats of a blue quality gem. Gives you a chance upon cutting a blue quality gem to end up with the stats of an epic quality gem.

Gemsetter spec for:

You have a chance when making a piece of jewelry to have it end up with 50% more of every stat on it. These pieces will have the modifier "Great" put in front of their name. Only works on rings and necklaces.

Both are good ideas, but with those choices, why choose the gem setter. Better Gems for free?? Maybe if the gem setter could make BoP into BoE as some rings are real nice but only BoP

The AH would blow up with people selling mats, and conversely, the amount of people doing high level enchants would go down. Supply and demand, with so much mats on the AH and so few people using them, prices drop. In the end everything will balance it self out again.
