ok, I fished the small lake in the middle of the map. I don't have a name and i don't use any Coord 'mods' so i don't have that for you. Any advice would be helpful.

As a RL fisherman - Ahi (aka - Tuna) are caught in the ocean.

1. Should i be in the lakes?
2. Is the lake i want in the center of the map (Basically follow the road from Desolace as you walk toward the horde camp?

Thanks

The lake in the middle is the only place (afaik) that it can be fished. I'm pretty sure you can't from the ocean. I've had the most success on the northern part, where there's a small lake. I doubt it makes a difference but it wasn't catching for me and I read that you need to be standing in the water to catch it. I stepped down the shore into the water (but not swimming) and got it on my first cast. Probably a coincidence but it worked for me, worth a try.

Lake + waterfall in the middle of the map(ish) is the only place it will drop. No ocean drops.

The Verdantis River is the "lake" in the middle of Feralas where you can find the Ahi. A word of warning- for some reason the Feralas Ahi was far and away the hardest of the four. At least 20 catches without the big tuna.

Good luck!

Yeah, as I'm only 225 fishing - I bought some +Fish stuff, but most of it has 10 or 30 minute timers. I spent 30 minutes - NO AHI!

Oh well, i'll try again tonight

I've always caught them in the Verdanis River, just slightly east (about 10 yards) of the Dire Maul turn off. The River is pretty close to the road there, and I've always gone to the closest bit of water to the road.

I've done the quest a couple of times, and I follow Calabar's advice with great success. Since I don't see him posting in this thread, I'm sure he wouldn't mind me directing you to his post in the linked thread.

Good Luck.

Nat Pagle wants you to catch the following fish:

Misty Reed Mahi Mahi from the Misty Reed Strand in the Swamp of Sorrows.

A Sar'theris Striker from the Sar'theris Strand in Desolace.

Feralas Ahi from the Verdantis River of Feralas.

Savage Coast Blue Sailfin from the Savage Coast of Stranglethorn Vale.

Return to Nat Pagle when you have reeled them all in!

What part of the word "River" made you interpret it as "Lake"? You will know when you reach it because a message will come up "You have discovered the Verdantis River!" and you will get discovery XP from it. Fish anywhere on the River. a few casts should get you tour fish. Use a lure.

Well I did catch it and I completed the quest.

You guys were right about the location, but man did it take a long time. I forget the name of the +75 fishing item, (Baubles or something like that) but I needed 1.5 (or 15 minutes) of straight fishing to catch this thing. In the end I had about 60 other fish and 1 Ahi... Not a good drop.

General notes:

Desolace fish - 1 in 10
SoS fish - 1 in 5
STV fish - 1 in 8
Ahi - 1 in 60

Guess I have bad luck.

I got my Artisan some weeks ago and i can say FOR SURE, that you CAN catch this fish below the bridge by the waterfall. I didn't fish close to the waterfall though, so don't let the environment make you think there is a "trick" to catching one. I swam across the river to a bank that led down to the water and was in a 'safe' area so I didn't have to watch my back.

the coolest thing WAS the length of time it took to catch this fish....about 25-30 minutes....BECAUSE, in that time, I caught 2.3 stacks of [Stonescale Eel].

YAYAH! (>-^)
