Your mileage may wary, and I have a number of things in my favor (having an epic flyer and being a Karazhan-level-geared feral druid). But I thought I'd toss out some ideas you guys might not have done yet.

1. Disenchanting items off the AH using enchantrix and/or common sense. I only list this because I know Mike will come in and say this is the best way. Also, to cover all my bases, fishing too.

2. Trees in Skettis. As an herbalist, Skettis is awesome. While doing my daily's, I do a complete round of the area, looking for the four Talonsworn Protectors (giant Ancient enemies). They are 71-72 elites, and thus easy to take down. When you herbalize them, they drop 3-5 motes of life, and 2-10 herbs (the only time I got 2 was when I got 2 black lotuses; the 10 was all felweed). Killing all 4, assuming a normal distribution and my server's market, nets you around 30-40 gold in herbs. Takes around 15 minutes if no one is farming them. However, they are usually farmed, and people can ninja-herbalize them, so be careful.

3. Running Stratholme. This is probably just for druids, and maybe for rogues. Stealthing through Stratholme, starting at the normal entrance and ending at the back entrance, allows you to take out 3 enemies. The run itself takes less than 10 minutes (I average around 7 or 8), and will get you three large brilliant shards. Then run back and do it again. The drawback is that it can only be done 5 times an hour; so that's 15 shards per hour. If you go further into UD, and kill the three ziggurat bosses on your last run, that's three more shards, though; and by then, 10 more minutes have passed so you can probably start it all over again. This method, by my server's conditions, nets me around 150-200 gold per hour, including runecloth drops, random trash, and dust/essences from random greens. Problems: you probably need stealth to do this quickly, and you need to learn how mobs in Stratholme move (all ghouls have True Sight), and occassionally an Eye of Naxxramas will call an entire group on you, which shouldn't be a death sentence, but will mess up your timing, and leave you with nasty diseases.

4. Halaa disenchanting. Every time the Alliance (or Horde, depending on side) control Halaa, check in with the vendor there. He sells, as a limited quantity, throwing stars for around 2 gold. These can be disenchanted, and usually yield 1-2 Greather Planar Essences. These essences go for 7-8 gold each on my server, so for 1 minute of work, you could potentially make over 15 gold. Worth checking it out; he gets resupplied every hour or so, it seems.

That's all for now, hope this helps some people out there. Have fun, and happy hunting. Or disenchanting and fishing.

Excellent info Locke.

I have also managed to make a good income (100-150 gold per hour) farming rep items like Marks of Sargeras and Fel Armament's (as well as massive amounts of netherweave).
On my server the marks go for 1g each and the Armements go for 18-20g.

Not just stratholme, but BRD too.

Here is a link to a 12 minute BRD for rogues.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5770825031548062709&q=12+minute+BRD&total=319&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0

Edit: at 12.5 minutes, the instance can be run indefinitely, since it works out to exactly 5 runs per 60 min.

One of the reasons I always say that is that it's the only one of your listed suggestions where you don't have to be L70. You don't even have to be capped in the tradeskill. 300 Enchanting is fully doable at L35, and will allow you to disenchant everything in the game (at least until the release of WotLK). What the heck, 225 Enchanting at L20 allows you to DE almost everything.

Fishing is one of my favorites for initial funding for AH disenchanting - a couple of stacks of Deviate fish, and you have enough gold to buy those low level items to start off your disenchanting career.

All are good methods, but how do you take down a 72 elite solo? Maybe with 2 people...Just like to know.

The trees are actually not that hard to kill. My mage friend often solo grinds them, and my hunter occasionally does. My guild will go there once a week for an hour or two and camp all four spawns. This nets us the mats for pots for progression nights.

If the trees can be trapped, set a freezing trap and wait 15 seconds. Send in your pet, hit mend pet, and DPS the carp out of them until you pull aggro. Tree hits trap, back off the full range, wait until pet is full health, rinse and repeat. Intimidation after the first trap if your pet doesn't grab aggro right away, and FD after the second trap.

After the second trap, I usually go full bore on the thing. Pop all the CDs and let 'er rip. That's how I've taken elites down throughout all my lvls, although I've never personally tried killing the trees.

Warlock is definitely the easiest class to solo the trees with.

Dot Dot Dot Dot Dot Fear drain life rinse and repeat > profit!

Ive heard its pretty easy for SP's too.

I was scared to death once because I had seen something coming at me, what looked like it wanted to kill me.

I was flying around doing my skettis bombing run, so I was pretty high up(just at the point where the mobs weren't visible on the ground). So I am flying to my next destination, and all of a sudden this huge(and I mean huge) laughing skull apears out of nowhere in front of me, and I freak. I'm like WTF is that, so I fly in the other direction, not wanting to aggro whatever the hell this very large thing is I've never seen in all my 70 levels of WoW.

So I fly up in the air, only to start laughing at myself when I realized, that the big laughing skull that was chasing me was actually the Fear marker that mobs get over their heads, and since the elemental is so large the skull is that much larger and what appeared to me at the time to be floating through the tree tops looking to kill me.

Sorry for the necromancy, but would it be worth it to prospect (bought) adamantite ore and then resell what you get at AH? I've heard of some people doing this, but never really heard if they actually got something from it (but why would they do it if there wasn't anything in it?)

EDIT: And would it be worth it to drop tailoring for? I've only got 350 pts in tailoring and 375 in mining, so I've got the support proff to powerlevel it, and there's really nothing for me to be gained from tailoring since my gear is better than the tailored stuff.

One VERY important thing to remember when making gold is to do MORE THAN ONE THING.

It is a simple supply and demand equation.

A. If all you do is mine the same thing over and over, and put 20 stacks on the AH at the end of the day, you may be getting many of them back, which is unfortunate as that means your only way to make gold is effectively stopped until you sell of what you have (so mining more is pointless).

B. But, if you can put up a few stacks of ore, a few stacks of fish, some leather or herbs, some DE mats, a few green-purple items (if they are worth more than the DE mats), some trade goods, some bandages or potions, some cloth and more...

Both of those things can be had in the same amount of time. However, you are much more likely to sell everything the first go-around on option B. Add in any dailies you enjoy doing. You can also farm marks and more to sell while that bunch is up.

By putting a ton of the same item up, you are just going to force the market to undercut you to sell. Thus, your items will go slower, and you have a ton that need to go. People undercut less (or for less) when only a few stacks out price theirs.

Mix it up. It will keep you from getting bored and be more efficient in the end.

[EDIT]

Also, when you go to post the stuff, do a quick Auctioneer scan and see if anything is worth snatching up to resell. Here's a hint--people tend to buy bidding items less. If there isn't a buyout and the bid price will net you profit, go ahead. IF someone outbids you, you get the cash back anyway.

If you are paying the bid game on the AH, only use one toon. I did it wrong last night. I overbid myself on the same ores sheesh!

Not trying to be argumentative, but I've tried to take those trees down with my Holy Pally (all blues, some purples), and I just cannot do it. I love skinning them, and try to get a guildie to farm them with me whenever I can.
