Hi I am a level 270 tailor currently needing to obtain some runecloth in order to advance my tailoring skill. I was just wondering if someone could recommend a good place that i could solo grind runecloth. Im a level 59 frost mage.

Another good place to go is Azshara.

The Blood Elfs there drop a fair bit of runecloth and (at least on my server) is not overly populated with other players.

AoE Western Plaguelands - Absolutely. There are groups of melee undead just waiting to get grouped up and AoE'd by a frosty.

If you don't AoE, then still go there to kill them. Melee mobs = easy targets for a mage.

They have a great drop rate for runecloth.

Western Plaguelands ftw. You'll also pick up Argent Dawn rep, which is good for tailors as they've got a couple of tailoring patterns.

You still get runecloth from outland mobs, so go level. You'll also pick up netherweave(which you need absolutely LOADS of), so at least you'll always be picking up cloth that will help sooner than later, and getting your levels. Go LFG for ramparts or blood furnace whenever you can too, and you'll pick lots up.

If you really hellbent on runecloth though, western plaguelands is definitely the place.

Also....

Yup WEP. I was just doing it 2 weeks ago (My gnome is finally on an Elekk :P) and I found that the 2 eastern most fields are the most productive. The mobs there usually drop around 15 - 20 RC on a decent AOE pull. The ones in the west might be lower level but they drop like 5 RC for each AOE -_-

Firbolgs in north Felwood, you will grind out some timbermaw rep in the process.

I'll go along with Baveux (along with a rateup for excellent information). Why grind in any of the high-level old world areas when The Outland is available?

. . . because frost mage AOE on melee mobs can yield phenomenal experience and copious loot. A frost mage can AOE kill 20 mobs easy as long as they're all melee classes. The skeletons and other undead right around Sentinel Hill in WPL are all melee. Round 'em up and frost trap / nova / rain them down. Its amazing. I know of no similarly nice for mage AOE situations in the Outlands.

... Except at Sorrow Hill in WPL, which is arguably the best AoE grinding area in the game pre-BC (beats pirates any day) the mobs are all level 50-52 and there's no way a 59 will get any valuable exp from them. They WILL fall easily however and yield ridiculous stacks of runecloth. I went back to these guys at 60 on my most recent Protection Pally to grind for all the Pally quests since I was behind on them. Lots of scourgestones for the trinket quest and probably a full stack of Runecloth every 2 clears... which takes about 10 minutes.

I'd say level up to 60 in WPL (very easy) then hit Outlands since you get Runecloth there as well. I never suggest hitting Outlands before 60 unless all you want to do is grind on stuff there. Actually, I'd even suggest finishing WPL and EPL (***** Silithus) for as much old world exp as possible before starting quests in Outlands. But then I like to have as many quests left over at 70 as possible for cash.. meh.

But honestly.. since this post is 4 days old already, I'm sure you've either gotten all the Runecloth you could possibly want, levelled to 60-62, or both by now anyway..
