I've already crafted the belt and nearly have the mats for the gloves (just need 1 more piece of Spellcloth).

However, my guild is running Kara very regularly now and I'm sure it's a matter of time before I get an epic drop for either a chest, hand or belt item.

So, is it worth waiting till the set is crafted to get the set bonus and pass on a lot of the drops in Kara? I hear that the Spellfire set is better than most T4 or some have said T5 gear! Is that true? Is it worth sacrificing the drops I get in Kara for the overall set bonus that the Spellfire will give me?

Thanks.

For a mage, Spellfire used with the Spellstrike set will carry you through until you start collecting from T5 raids. Fill in the rest of your gear with pvp and kara/gruul gear and your set for a long, long time.

Yes, the gear will last you at least mid-way through Tier5 instances (where I started to sacrifice spelldmg for stam to stay alive a bit more) but it is definitely an amazing set to have.
