My gatherer alt have mining and herbalism as profession. Both are over 300. 320 herbalism and 312 mining. Its hard to gather both at the same time because i can't track 2 thing at the same times.

I want to know witch one is the best money maker. I won't use the mats and all I get will go to the AH. I have a 375 jewelcrafter to prospect ore if its better selling gem than ore

I think you already know the answer. It depends on your server's conditions.

Personally on my server, I think mining would be better. Sen'Jin's herb economy was in the dumps for the past few weeks. Stacks of Felweed used to go for 16 gold a stack, and were averaging around 7-8g a stack for two weeks straight.

Mining is also great if you have a stealthing class. You can make a ton off thorium, especially in Silithus. But, if your other character can prospect, then mining is almost without a doubt the best.

With the patch release, regardless of the server, the lower outland gems - Azure Moonstone Blood Garnet Deep Peridot Flame Spessarite Golden Draenite Shadow Draenite - will rise in price. Thorium, Fel Iron, and Adamantite Ore will all be in relative high demand, as those can be prospected from them all.

I'd say stick with mining, but try to avoid smelting.
