If this is your first character, you'll be pretty starved for gold with any kind of crafting profession.

For that reason, I'd say you should go skinning/mining or skinning/herbalism. Sell everything you get at the AH, and keep saving your gold. You WILL need it.

If you like crafting professions though, all of the above will help you with your warrior. Alchemy gives you health pots and elixirs to buff you up and keep you going even in rough situations. Engineering = bombs and other fun to use trinkets(plus a decent helm all the way to 70), and blacksmithing means you can make your own gear/weapons.

All these items can be had at the AH though, so you won't get anything until the very highest of levels that others can't already make for you.

If you're starting out, Alchemy/Herbalism isn't a bad combo. If you can stand to pick up fishing you'll hardly have to buy anything more than flasks and vials to keep yourself stocked. Those usually don't cost much, and the healing and guardian pots are nice regardless of level.

Once you get situated and higher level you can drop the potion making and flower picking for mining/blacksmithing. There's some nice end of the line BoP stuff for warriors, but until you're in the 60s you'll find better in the AH.

So you suggest putting work in only to drop it later?

Sounds pretty ridiculous, especially when the fish used for alchemy are worth more sold as raw fish, and healing pots are so cheap at lower levels.

Full of phail.

I think they maybe meant selling the stuff to make money first. Herbing not only makes you money but alch can too (especially on BG weekend and with mana/health pots). I rarely use fish to level up my alch, probably used a grand total of about 5. So any fish caught could be used to make gold as well.

This is what I gathered though... not too sure

...and I'm pretty sure that you're on your way to the poorhouse. Alchemy will net you more gold than the others, but will not get you as much gold as just selling the herbs will. Engineering and Blacksmithing are the road to ruin, unless you have another toon bankrolling yours.

Alchemy - gives you defense and offense pots as well as effectively unlimited health pots - half decent ability to make gold selling pots on AH and once you get Xmutes, premo way to make gold.

BS - you can sell ore and gems on AH for gold, make armor and weapons for yourself - my brother is a BS for his warrior and some of the armor spec items he makes are ungodly - better then T4, maybe even T5.

Engineering - you get bonuses to it as a gnome - explosives rock for soloing - goggles you can make are T5 or better and you can make them at 62 plus you can make rifles for pulling and the best ammo to put in them.
