Ok so I JUST capped LWing tonight (from 362-375 cost me ~700g) and i dropped skinning for another profession. Now ive really had my eye on engineering because i think the boom would be nice in some situations and i really want the mote extractor. Of course im under the assumption that with the extractor and goggles i can farm out primals and make some pretty good cash. Need an engineer to clarify if that is viable or not.

However my guild is pushing progression with our raids and we only have ~3 alchemists that even bother with it. Im thinking going alchemy/flask master might be a good idea also, just so i can help my guild. So im kinda in a bind on what to decide.

Essential question is which can make me more cash once capped, because i allready know alchemy would be more useful to my guildies.

The mote extractor is very nice for sucking gold out of the sky, but alchemy can be a serious moneymaker as well - especially if you can get the herbs yourself. I have one of each and the alchemist makes me more gold more consistently (quite a lot of which comes from transmutes), but this could just be because there are quite a few more engineers these days farming motes and I really can't be bothered to hunt them down when there are less populated avenues of gold generation available to me.

I'd say go for alchemy, but I'm never giving up engineering just because I think it rocks :p

Why don't you go herbalism? You can make a ton of money, and supply mats to your guildie Alchemists to help them make more pots (instead of you making pots).

So you can make money and support guild. Yea!!!!

I can't believe you are dropping a huge moneymaker to pick up another money sink profession. Especially one that you'll be levelling without the requisite gathering skill. That's gonna be pretty costly.

That's what I'm going to be doing. (the whole dropping a gathering to level up a crafting prof).

Right now I'm and enchanter with skinning. I'm planning on farming LW mats with skinning and when I have them all then I'll be dropping skinning to PL my LW. You'd be surprised at how much things like the Riding Crop are going for.

I am in the process of doing the same. Leveled LW/Skinning, hit LW 375 and dropped skinning for mining. I am going to farm all the mats needed to powerlevel engineering.

On a side note, riding crops do sell for a lot, but they cost a lot to make. I used them to level LWing from 350-365ish, but I could only sell them for about a 12g profit.

Still 12g more than what you had =P. But I figured, that if people bring me the mats, I'm not losing anything and gaining a level, ya know?
