Oily Blackmouth
Firefin Snapper

Click on "Fished from" to find the locations.

"Safe" is a relative term, and a lot depends on your level, your expertise in class, and your PvP status. You'll have to make that determination on your own.

edit to the jerk who sub-defaulted this thread: This is a perfectly reasonable question, #$^&head! Go get a different hobby, like freebasing without a chute.

I'd agree with you Mike, shame on them. Smiley: mad

I have also rated up the OP for coming here to ask people who have this info to share it. Sure there's a faq or three but if he's new, maybe he doesn't know to look there first. How bout you all help the newbie instead of scare him off?

I agree newbies should be helped not scared so I'm going to offer posting advice since the fishing advice has been giving already.

When making a thread subject name it something more appropriate than just "fishing" There are a million things this could mean. If you want help it is better to use more descriptive subject names so people who know about that subject are more inclined to read your post.

Also capitalization helps a lot in forums as people tend to take you more seriously.

Edit: My n button hates me sometimes......

This guide has maps that may help you out. At the least it'll give you an idea of where to go.

Fishing 1-375

Fishing 1-375

Unfortunately, that guide is wrong. It doesn't matter where you fish for leveling the skill.

I have found El's Extreme Anglin' website to be a great resource about fishing.

http://www.elsanglin.com/

You might find these tables useful, not only do they give locations to fish from, they will tell you the skill necessary to fish there as well as prevent getaways.

Um the first line in the guide clearly says:

Quote:
Fishing in even the lowest level water can and will level your fishing

The guide offers tips on leveling as well as good locations to fish for skill and profits. As well as note important fishing locations. To call my guide wrong is unfair, untrue, and plain rude.

It's funny, but never mentioned is the most lucrative low-level fishing for Horde. The Oases in the barrens yield up plenty of Deviate fish, which I've found always sell well. If you get the recipe for Savory Deviate Delight, you can make even more gold. You should be able to catch them without a lure at 50 skill, and they will last you until you get to Tanaris and start in on Stonescale Eels.

OK, so let's talk about the errors:

Quote:
Level 1-50
Alliance: Crystal Lake in Elwynn Forest
Horde: The lake at Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore

So if you are a Night Elf, Draenei, or any Horde race other than Tauren, you can't get to 50 skill. Additionally, I've found that the pond behind the Forge in Goldshire is much better (and safer) for lowbies than Crystal Lake.

The error is one of ommision - any fishing area in the starting zones is good for the initial leveling. Not mentioned is that players should also start with a +25 lure to begin with, since you want to avoid "your fish got away" messages as much as possible. You should be able to get to 25 skill on the first lure, and you won;t have to buy any more to get your skill up to 100 there.

It goes on like that - a single place for each, and never a mention of the fish that bring in money or can be used for recipes. Basically, the guide is worthless. In defense of the guide, all I can say is that it does have pretty maps.

It is a good site, I am glad you like it. There is info on there regarding the fishing quest, too.

I obtained Nat's quest at level 35 also, but waited until level 40 to complete it as it was so much easier to get done with a mount. I found Swamp of Sorrows to be a real pain the butt, but I had to avoid the roads near Stonard because of the Orc patrols. You won't face those same problems I did, especially when I tried to ride through the Horde camp in Feralas by accident.

Bring some bait with you, I found even with skill 225 my fish got away in the Verdantis river. Good luck!

Glad to hear that you are doing well in your fishing. You can also check our guide section on the bottom left there. We have some that are out of date but we are updating them bit by bit as we move them to our upcoming wiki. Feel free to check them out or ask when you have questions.

Again, welcome to Allas.
