this is my 1st toon and I've got him to level 54 as a BE Rogue.
Never been to Outlands. My engineering and mining are now at 300. Should I be patient and wait
till I get higher level or would it be worthwhile to make the trip to get more training.
If the trainer was in Shatt. City, I would go, but the trainers are in Zangarmarsh and Netherstorm.
Will all I get be a large repair bill?

thanks in advance!!

One of the biggest perks of Engineering is that you can wear items much more powerful than your level would otherwise allow if you level ahead. Assuming you have the money to level your engineering, you may as well take care of that now and enjoy the items while they're so good for you. Specifically, I suggest you level your engineering high enough to wear Cogspinner Goggles of the Bandit and craft a Gnomish Poultryizer/Goblin Rocket Launcher.

Also, I'm a fan of getting to Shattrath via mage portal or warlock summons ASAP. Level 10 is not too soon to set your hearthstone to the Scryer Rise. You'll effectively have a quick path to any of the four capitals, saving you an enormous amount of time on Zepplins.

My enchanter is level 53. His home was set to shat at level 8. I've already trained my enchanting past 300.

If you've maxed out your skill, you should train the next level range past 300. You're not gonna let a few scary mobs on the road stop you, are you? I love exploring and getting flight paths for areas before I should be there. It's fun, with a hint of danger.

You should train mining ASAP. Thorium still gives good skill for a while after 300 and that'll give you a nice head start on outlands mining once you get there. Engineering isn't as important unless you plan to powerlevel it some because the 300+ recipes require outlands ore. (There's no real reason NOT to train engineering though because you'll be out there anyway get get mining.)

Add one for the "Go train!" train of thought. It's totally worth it, and if you don't do it now you'll have more backfarming to do later to get that skill up.

go train now.

I have on my main Skinning and LW. My skinning was capped at 300 at lvl 45 lol.
I made the trip (i only had to go to shatt >.>) and set my Hearth there.

Now at lvl 57, my skinning is up around 320 (maybe more/less). I'm glad I dropred the gold at 45.

What about a level 52 mage, going for first aid training? :) Same advice: go for it? I'm not sure how to get there, but a lvl 70 friend of mine was telling me earlier that he actually took a lvl 12 guy to Outland once. lol. Maybe he'll take me. :)

Didn't wanna start another thread about it, so I figured I'd ask here, since realms are down and I'm reading about things I need to do soon.

Thanks,
Trill

You don't "need" to go to OL for First Aid training. Just have someone buy the books for you and send it to you (or check the AH).

Either way, you should go just because it's fun :)

I think I will. :) I have a friend who just recently turned 58, and he screams at me in tell all the time, demanding that I come help him. lol. A lot of help I'd be, but it would be funny to show up and die. :)

Thanks,
Trill
