I was doing some thinking and a tad bit of research, and I'm curious about something. Really, this applies to Leatherworking too, but I don't quite think it's to the same degree.
At level 70, and especially once you start endgame raiding, is there really any point to blacksmithing anymore? It seems that a great deal of the weaponsmith/armorsmith plans you can get are craftable BoP items, and even the ones that are sellable are still weaker than that which you get through raiding. Am I right? Doesn't this ultimately make blacksmithing a dead-end profession?
Tailors always have to make/sell bags. Alchemists always can make/sell potions. Enchanters can always be enchanting people's new gear. Hell, even Cooking and First-Aid are useful at end-game. But what about Blacksmiths?
I want to have a profession that is going to be worth something to me the entire time I play. But it's starting to look like this might not be it. Granted, I will admit that I know very little about end-game content and gear, and thus it is why I'm turning to the community for more answers.
Comments, advice? I appreciate anything said on the matter, as I am happy to learn more about how the higher-levels of this game function.
