My brother's a BS and didn't really have much in the way of good things to say about 375 skill mail items - you'll be able to make some nice weapons but that's apparently it.
LW does offer some beautiful scale armor at the top end that your hunter will love and there's some nice leather items from 1-40 to boot - the problem is that 41-68 there's pretty much two LW items for your hunter - jack and sh*t.
Well, that's not completely true - there's some nice quivers and ammo pouches and of course you'll love the armor patches too, but realitistically speaking, LW wont give much in the way of gear till you ding 70.
Alchemy is a decent trade though - the various armor and AGI pots you can make kick butt for hunters and there's always a market/use for your skill up pots. As soon as you can transmute primal earth to water then you've just created a free money machine, plus, the two or three levels you spend in Zangamarsh will be pure heaven farming those plant giants for XP, greens, plants and motes of life - that time in your life is going to pay for your flying mount.
Another skill that's good for hunters is engineering - the various toys rather compliment your pet and traps and make you almost impossible to kill, plus, everyone loves a hunter who can FD on a wipe and then maybe rez the healer with jumper cables.
JC I probably wouldn't recommend - the jewelery is nice, no question, but not so much as to compliment a hunter the way the other skills could.
Enchanting and a gathering skill would be a great asset and money maker to boot - you can sell the gather skill materials for straight profit while enchanting not only lets you get nice buffs for your gear but can also become a great money making skill as you sell enchanting mats you don't need anymore or have excesses of.
