Thanks

According to the search on here, Skettis looks to be one of the best places; the Skettis Sentinel has a 56% chance to drop Netherweave. I personally always get a couple of stacks just cutting through mobs for my SSO dailies. I'd go with either Skettis (keeping an eye open for herbs and Ancients) or Blood Elves (Netherstorm or Quel'Danas, your choice). Not sure if they're the best, but they're steady.

Or, you know, farm something that makes more, like primals, and buy the netherweave off the AH. That works well too.

If you slaughter the Sunfury bloodelves in Netherstorm, you should end up with a lot of Scryer rep items as well (Armory shows you only at Revered). This'll go even faster (and net you some gold) if you manage to work in the Scryer quest chains that start in Area 52.

Grinding for just Netherweave is a waste.
The best option is to grind for Netherweave AND something else.

I grind rep, the skettis are good as they drop feather (for lower city rep) also demons/blood elves are a good choice for the signets/marks for scryer/aldor rep.

Try the Ogres in Nargard.
they drop alot of coin, cloth, and other items of value.
Each kill gets you 10 rep for Kularnia (spelling?) if your alliance, or the horde equilivent.
In addition to 10 rep per kill, they drop the beads that you can then turn in for further rep with the consortium or Kularnia.
you'll farm your cloth, and get rep per kill + turn ins for more rep with 2 option of 2 differnet factions. sounds like its full of win to farm the orges
good luck

I wouldn't grind those Ogres in Nagrand, they drop a lot of Runecloth as well as Netherweave (2:1 Netherweave)

i am referring to the orges in the caves below halaa, they do not drop runecloth all netherweave baby.

I remember getting a fair bit of netherweave off of the Zaxxis guys (who I was farming for their insignia for consortium rep and mining ore - multi-tasking is key!) in Netherstorm. I liked them because they were close together, easy to round up and respawned fast but they could be over-farmed depending on time of day and suchlike.

You have to farm for netherweave? Good grief.

Farm for just about anything else in the game and you'll end up with netherweave to spare. As others have said, Naxxis, Elves for scryer rep (or aldor equivalent), Skettis, etc.

Cloth drops at ridiculous rates in Outlands. I know tailors go through a lot of it, but I'm not sure I ever remember having to farm it on my way to 375.

^ This. Netherweave isn't something you actively farm, it's just something that floods in on you unbidden. I get about 3 stacks everytime I do SSO and I AH it.

As a tailor, I need more netherweave than I get on my own in order to level/cap. After all, 3 stacks of netherweave=10 bolts of netherweave. Thats enough for two low-mid 300 level items.

It also makes just over 3 bolts of imbued netherweave (3 per). You need those to cap tailoring. The imbued pants takes 4 bolts and the robes needs 5.

So while we do get a lot of netherweave, it's not nearly enough to level quickly. I saw somewhere that we'll need around 2200 pieces to cap tailoring? At 3 stacks a day, that's still 36+ days of grinding.

Now, with that all being said, I still don't know how productive intentionally farming netherweave is. As mentioned above, doing quests that involve killing humanoids will generate a steady stream, and you'll get the extra rep/xp/quest rewards as well.

I'd also ask your guildies/friends for help. The non-tailor ones are generating far more cloth than they'll ever need for bandages. Let them know that if they get you the mats (plus a stack or two extra), you'll gladly make them the imbued bags. This is best while you're getting skill ups for the bags, but still works afterwards. The extra netherweave they'll give you can be used for higher level stuff. Plus your guildies will remember to send you their cloth, even after they're all bagged out.

If you're looking for Netherweave quickly, just do dailies.

You get 30-40 through drops, and make 250g for the SSO dailies.
250g will buy you around 1000 netherweave at reasonable prices.

I have actually found that the cellars right by Karazahn drop an absolute load of netherweave, when I was down there doing those quests for the Violet Eye, I walked out with around 6 stacks. Mind you, this is about all that's going to drop down there.

Man, just doing dailies on my hunter and grinding out quests on my 65 pally, my warlock tailor now has 12 stacks of netherweave cloth sitting in his bank waiting on the other materials to finish tailoring.

I've found the blood elves in terrorkar and the birds in skettis net me a metric crap ton of that stuff. So much so that I have ended up making stacks of bandages and selling them off on my hunter as well after sending half to my lock. At 3g a stack of cloth on the AH vs around 6g for a stack of bandages to a vendor (forgot to add that), well, you do the math :)

On my bank character, I have a whole bank tab of netherweave stacks saved up for when I finally get the tailor to level 50. It's an absolute stupid amount of cloth.

The voidspawn in Nagrand around oshu'gun drop coin, netherweave, oshu'gun powder for rep and motes of shadow as well as greens and blues. And you can pick up the crystal fragments for rep for you alts.

this quote is a year old but

Quote:
farmed these for about an hour and a half (not sure how many i killed), got the following:

17g
6 stacks of netherweave
57 motes of shadow
3 green armor pieces
1 green weapon
2 grey items

Not terrible. I've noticed the drop rate of mote of shadow has been changed horirbly since the last patch, and so i couldn't farm in the place i had been expecting to. Someone told me void-type demons are the only things that drop them now, so i decided to try here. Seems to be working easily enough. Usually about 1/3 dropped some, although i wouldn't call that the drop rate necissarily.

Honestly since I hit lvl 70 I find the fastes way to farm Netherweave is go to the AH and spend up to 3g50s per stack. WE all know how quickly the daily quests can be done in isle of q, especially when you do them during school hours. To me ITs quicker and less painful to just do the dailies and pay for the cloth.

When I would farm for Scryer rep up in Shadowmoon... that terrace, I would get tons of netherweave. Unfortunately, you might run into some competition.

Did this get pulled back from the second page ? going by the start date this is an old thread pulled back to the top again and has been properly replied to in previous answers.

Ohh well i guess i might as well say do not farm cloth , farm something else that will make you either Rep or Gold as cloth is just a bonus that you get almost anywhere in outland and it is far quicker to buy from others or the auction house , on my server i have seen people in trade channel offering sometimes 1000+ netherweave for sale at reasonable prices so i cannot see any point in farming what is a very low priced item as Wool on my server always sells at a higher price.
